I will fallback on my public land experience in another state (oh god no, someone does it differently!) blaze orange required on PUBLIC land, BUT only when <12' off the ground. I bet 90% of us do this anyhow. Where our hats/vests through the woods and swap them in the stand. As far as private land, I stick with my libertarian beliefs that the gov't should F right out of my business. If this isn't a totally logical law, please debate -

i basically told the wife that im done. bought everything i needed for myself lol. as far as hunting I've had an entry level vac sealer for a few years now and it's ok but not very efficient. no bag holder or cutter. So i saw a sale on foodsavers website for a 5 series marked down to $120. auto bag maker and stuff. so i was like yes! and it gets opened early if i shoot another deer haha. http://www.foodsaver.com/vacuum-sealers/counter-top-vacuum-sealers/v5000-series/the-foodsaver-fm5460-2-in-1-food-preservation-system/FM5460-DTC.html#start=1 oh and $29 but 3 boxes of 3 roll packs! http://www.foodsaver.com/food-storage-bags-and-containers/vacuum-seal-bags-and-rolls/11-inch-vacuum-sealer-rolls/foodsaver-11-x-16-vacuum-seal-roll-3-pack/FSFSBF0634-NP.html#start=1 -
i have never had luck with full moons. seems to extend nighttime activity.

i havne't done many like g-man layed out. Mine are typical small groups under 10 lasting under a few hours from prep to completion. Just a good time in general. Only downside I see sometimes is brown its down and some bb's and other small doe's killed as watchers are typically just looking to kill something lol.

i talk to my uncles and dad who are all in their 60's about this. back in the day a lot less guys treestand hunted and gear wasn't as good so guys didn't hunt as long. This allowed those that were hanging in a tree to benefit from the movers who weren't intentionally driving them. now a lot of guys are educated and all sit in trees tapping on their phones with no deer to be seen lol.

the point is for the lady who has her watch beep at legal shooting hours. all these other states don't have people dying with the rules. but i'm blocked and talking to a brick wall, even if i wasn't blocked lol. this guy was shooting past 30 iirc anyhow. god the ignorance is strong here. -
remember you can hunt with archery equipment which i don't believe is illegal for felons (someone please correct me). also trapping, fishing etc at one time was tied into the sportsman.

Hunting Bill Passed but Cuomo hasn't signed it yet

i would assume all hunters and anti's would support this. not that he cares about upstate which is where the majority of NY hunters live anyhow. -

Not to derail this thread, and I know legally that's a pistol. But lets be honest. That aint no pistol -
oh please. If you're 2 weeks into gun there isn't anything wrong with a good ole drive. If that's the only way you hunt? maybe. at 16 I killed my first deer on a drive after siting a few times without luck. Put a few on for my 80 year old grandpa and disabled uncle who didn't have deer. I bet a picture of their mounts on the wall would put you to shame.

yes you remind people how superior you are to me and doewacker quite often. What's funny is that i was trying to help. carry on.
-
I love bowhunting. But i'll be honest. Drives are fun, both sitting and watching. With stand hunting you're rarely off approach trails, so it's a chance to go stomping through the woods and find sign and get some action.

it is illegal to burn and dump garbage in nys.

it's an effort vs reward and experience thing. There's undoubtedly some giants in the mountains. I think what is tough for some NY hunters is that not even a 2 hour drive from the mountains are much more hunter friendly areas with nice big deer as well. As an avid fan of the show meateater I dream of being able to hunt and camp out west someday. It's hard to justify that for a NY buck. A little easier for an elusive elk, moose, grizzly etc. but if it's the experience you're looking for, you can certainly replicate it (although not knowing utah very well, i'm assuming with a lot more vegetation in NY)

shamefully? no hunter should ever feel shame unless they cheated.

while still inexcusable to shoot a guy wearing carhartts, i agree that it's asking for trouble. any dog walker should be wearing something bright during hunting season and any biker or walker should have some lights/reflective vests on. it amazes me the people i barely see while driving that are in all black just walking the shoulder especially during these days of limited light. -
Why it’s high time to make peace with crossbow hunting

see my response on "the challenge line" from yesterday. No disagreement. It's opinion and it wont ever be settled. However, at some point we need a line don't you think? baiting, drone coverage, thermal scopes? There has to be one somewhere. -
you wouldn't slow cook the tenderloin or don't use it? The tenderloins are delicious.
