I've never watched a video or clicked a single link you've ever posted. I won't start now. Not everything you say is wrong, but the constant onslaught is just nauseating. Just give it a rest. If respected public land hunters like Steven and first lite are against it and explain why, I don't need an extremist right wing website to tell me it's ok.

Looks like a rough night brother
-
How do you defend people burning public land used by hikers, bikers and hunters? There is nothing patriotic about destroying our natural resources for your financial gain, getting pissed you're called out on it and then claiming you're some sort of freedom fighter. This is about money and nothing else.
-
Do some of you not realize this guy is using public land set aside for conservation of our animals and resources for his own financial gain? Listen to Steven rinellas podcast with the first lite guys. These guys are using public land for their own financial gain and claiming to be patriots? Burning public land? Wtf?

I don't recall which of the 100 daily political threads it was in. Stock market maybe? Funny thing when I called him on it he just reaffirmed it.

according to VJP, your wife hates her life and is vacationing to escape her reality.

I just recently dropped over $700 on a SS kimber 1911. It's an $1100 gun and a great deal. Every so often I "drill" my wife to be sure she remembers the finger combo to the gunvault by the bedside and how the guns work. So the kimber replaced my glock 23. She picks it up and is like "wow this is big and heavy". "is it new? this is new isn't it?". "No honey, that's the same gun, remember here's the thumb safety and there's one in the chamber?". "yeah I guess" It's not a matter of hiding anything. we're a single income family and generally she gets what she wants. It's just easier to not give her more ammo when we're talking about our $300 grocery bills

no I understand. I'm just assuming he doesn't have a ton of storage at his place. I have friends with million dollar pads in manhatten and they're tiny. Just thinking where I would begin to keep even 1/2 the crap i use for hunting just wouldn't even work. So my point is a storage locker could be beneficial for not just the gun but lots of other crap we hunters accumulate.
-
ouch. that's no deal I'm sorry to say. Check out gunbroker some and you'll be sick to your stomach.
-
I think depending on the size of your place in the city, a small storage locker might not be a bad idea anyhow. You can store what ends up being quite a bit of gear for hunting in there and not taking up valuable storage space in your pad. Most storage areas are pretty secure these days and a shotgun fully equipped is going to be under $1k and can be insured for cheap or even free with an NRA membership. just my .02. good luck.

like grow mentioned trails should be easy. they're narrow and generally vegetation free. anything that is wide, open and full of crap to catch the leaves will be difficult.
-
to each his own. i think it's cool.

You can buy numerous solid CVA's for around or under $500. Spend another $300 for glass and another $100 on some good cleaning tools, powder, bullets and primers and you're in the business. I'd have a hard time spending a ton of money for what's a short season where you hopefully already have a buck and meat in the freezer.

i have a pretty hefty backpack blower. it's more of a chore than it looks sometimes. and you'll need a place to blow where they wont just blow back. sticks, small bushes and branches will all hold and catch the leaves. I believe your efforts are better off at cutting down some canopy. the undergrowth will come.

What would be nice is if one of their telemarketers didn't call me once a week
-
Always know how to get a group on your side. I enjoy the big city, visit it at least once a year to see my friends. But with all the money in the world I wouldn't call it home. Please understand that we're all different. I enjoy a big piece of land for my family to enjoy. You can enjoy your easy access. I will enjoy my freedom to carry a firearm and you can enjoy endless entertainment options. There is no right or wrong place to call home.

So you're telling me that you and your optics are so bad ass you adjust for 2 inches on a whitetail at 200 yards?
-
still meant i wasn't directing the comment at anyone. just a general comment about the game of inches. Even at 9x on a whitetail at 200 yards you're probably not adjusting 2 inches. The whitetail moves, the hunter is cold and adrenaline pumping, sometimes freehand. Chances are your crosshair is either on or right behind the shoulder. squeeze, bang, flop. In archery adjusting for distance is much more drastic. I don't know of many gun hunters if any that are consciously aiming high or low in the 50 to 200 range.
-
no wildcat, just a general comment when we start splitting hairs.
-
fwiw, there's no excuse not to be as accurate as possible, but we sometimes forget we're not trying to shoot the fuzz off the bucks nuts. dead on at 100 and an inch high at 50 shouldn't make any difference with a good shot and the crosshairs where you want them. Just look at your thumbnail and ask yourself how big of a deal you think it is. A nice scope is about fov, clarity and light and really nothing much more. My vx3 comes with the option to add the CDS. Custom fitted to the altitude and load I shoot. I can adjust my scope to compensate for distances out to 600 yards. Cool feature. Not really needed in the woods I hunt.
-
Dang I didn't see that online option. Hope I get that $100!
-
I own both and I can assure you the clarity and light is much better on the 3.
-
32. small game since 12. bb guns before that.

I want to reiterate that nikons are not bad scopes. But a comparably priced leupold is just better in my opinion. I have a nikon on my cva. The day rifle switched to muzzleloader I took it into the woods and was really amazed at how much better my vx3 looked than my bdc. Now those 2 scopes aren't even in the same ballpark as price and I've dropped several dear with my cva. One at 22 minutes past sunset (leagal in MS)... but the vx2 or vx3 is where it's at.
