  1. 7RM and .06 to start. The 7 is first in line as I have several boxes of .06 to burn up first.
  2. I wish I was able to get into this a year ago so I could be using hand loads this opener, can't wait.
  3. I plan on taking a ride after season to see Culvers set up hopefully. The good thing is there is a bunch of info and videos out on reloading and I have been reading every thing I can on it.
  4. I agree, every dog owner thinks their dog is the best ever and can be very sensitive when they are told they aren't. Same goes for training methods, their way is the best. Trial dogs? who wants a trialer, he wants to hunt not win ribbons...lol I wouldn't hold a ton of stock in testing results either, I have seen some terrible dogs score big because of politics or friends being judges. They can be a gauge but you never know how many attempts were made to get that title. Viszla...yuck, do you knit them a sweater when it gets to cold for them? hehe And why does every guy here recomend a dog breed that they own? Never once have I mentioned that the best breed is the Wirehaired Pointing Griffon aka The Supreme Gundog or that I own a female that will be breed in @two years. My male alpha is not bad at all, he will growl/push around every dog he meets no matter the size though and that I do watch. Around home he is the best, my other male however is a pain in the ass. He is not dominate in any way shape or form and will cower from a small dog, he does pace, whine, ect. That one is a German Wirehaired pointer though he thinks he is a Griff now. Mike Rossi what part of the state are you from? I'm in northern Saratoga County.
  5. If you look on the preserves website at another pic of a hanging deer you will notice the same cable and hanging equipment. I'm positive based on the pics it's from that preserve. http://www.mountaintrailwhitetails.com/gallery.html
  6. Almost as easy as calling an animal control officer.
  7. Sits do you see bucks like that while hunting or just on cam?
  8. Not really different, every time those threads come up we never know what happened. We are real good at jumping to conclusions.
  9. I prefer Stewarts bathroom but to each his own, if I did I would think one in the rain might be relaxing?
  10. Say what??? And he did have it worked out ahead of time, call the neighbor when permission to track is required.
  11. Well there is no drama in that, come on man buy in!!! That yellow one looks like it is a big hurry.
  12. We have a spot that we won't hunt part of because of lack of recovery rights on the neighboring property. We honor the other land owners wishes and as a result stay the hell away from the area alltogether. If we had recovery rights we could get a whole lot more deer but its just the way it is. I actualy don't plan on hunting it next year because I am sick of it.
  13. How do you guys transport the face paint? To bad there isn't a small bag type thing that can hold the paint and other needs that you can carry around. Oh yeah they have those, they are called Purse's. Do you guys try to match your makeup with your camo's?
  14. You are lucky to have survived his attack!!!
  15. What is your idea of reasonable cost? Most well breed GSP's go for $800-1000+ and I would use caution with non-reputable breeders. Popular breeds tend to ruin breeding programs. Make sure you pick the right breed for you, there are many different breeds that are fantastic. GSP's are high strung, too much for me in the house but great in the field and somewhat easy to train. Training is another thing you need to consider, who is going to train the dog or will you seek help from a trainer. Here are two breeders I know and trust and have seen a good amount dogs from, coming from a non-GSP bird dog owner of corse. http://www.baconhillkennel.com/puppies.html http://onpointkennel.com/
  16. Ordered my supplies today from midway, went with the lee kit because of the turret system and cost. Also picked up primers and powder so I will have every thing but knowledge by the end of the week.
  17. Welcome to my neck of the woods, I'm 20 min south of the lake.
  18. Reminds me of that cult that offed themselves while wearing reeboks a few years ago.
  19. Bogs, excellent customer service and a life time warranty.
