Don't worry, once you kill a few you will learn what is a good idea and what is not. If you would rather gamble on a bad hit then have at it.

Shooting at an alert deer is asking for trouble IMO, no matter how fast or quiet the bow, the deer will win every time.

How about Rabbit, Grouse, Pheasant, Squirrel, Turkey, screwing around in the Hardwoods? The point is, you have NO idea what some one is doing unless you can see them. (It ain't Goose season right now, at least around me)

All to often deer hunters forget that there have always been other season's running concurrent with theirs. Wether you agree or disagree with a youth season doesn't matter, there has always been small game and Duck hunting going on and I would find it impossible to tell what someone is shooting at from a simple sound of gun fire.

All of these things can be learned while still hunitng, one of our key things we do in my family. We call it "in-season scouting", sometimes the info is used for the current year, sometimes for the following year.

You still sound like a D-Bag no matter what you do. You are not a Trophy hunter, stop pretending to be. And yes public opinion on Trophy hunting is not favorable, personaly I could give two poops what you hunt and do or don't kill.

Maybe if you were nice to meat hunters you could learn a thing or three, unless you already know it all that is. Nothing really ground breaking in his tactics, his key is where he hunts obviously. One of the first I have read about that doesn't sit in a stand all day every day waiting, like most "modern" hunters do.

Might have hit the shoulder facing you then, who knows? That would explain the thump and limp and blood, muscle hits bleed like SOB and then stop. But thats all a guess cause I am not there.

I'm duck hunting Saturday afternoon and out for deer Sunday, I'm ready for the weekend!

We go out what is considered late by most in a couple of places but hunt all day. The one place especially the deer move late and all day. I have killed both doe and buck in the 10-2 time there. We get in around 645-715 which is nice because I live 1.5 hours from there and getting up any earlier than 4am would stink.

I don't think you can consider yourself a trophy horn hunter when that's not what you kill can you? Thereby meaning how can you give advice? Hypocritical is claiming to be something your'e not, like you. The internet sure does make pro hunters out of everyone doesn't it? And..you don't have any idea what I shoot, and thats because I don't go around claiming to be god's gift to deer hunting like some others here.
