  1. I will be out there in the AM with my wife and father, I am ready to roll!
  2. Thanks, I remember there being a SNL skit on the news with a song with yolo but I never bothered to see what it meant. I'm gonna go hang out with my 9yr old to catch up on modern things.
  3. I know I'm getting out of touch being 33 but, WTF is YOLO?
  4. I'll see your hurt finger and raise it one... June 2nd my family and I went up north to help another buddy out getting his camp ready to go. Its is a guide's cabin deep in the Daks with a steep roof that ties into a flatter metal roof. Well the stove pipe needed a new cap on it and I was the little guy (ha) so I was the one for the job. Up on the roof I skampered and then I pulled the step ladder up behind me and laid it against the steeper roof in front of an audiance of kids and parents and decided a wet leaf pile would hold me. I actualy said "These leaves should hold me" as I bounded up the ladder. Just as I made it to the top step that isnt a step my wife say's thats not a good idea..quite woman I am a pro at this stuff...down I went riding the ladder holding the galvanized stove pipe cap. I thought I made it unscathed until I pulled the cap off my ring finger and sprayed blood like a stuck pig. I had to sit down for minute and then had to wrap my finger up in a dirty towel and then get myself down off the roof which was not easy. Two hours later we pulled into Warensburg and I got six stich's and my finger is still numb. I was lucky not to cut the entire end off honestly. Two weeks later I went back up and finished the job with a different ladder, I showed that stove pipe!
  5. Farm raised bucks are still farm raised buck after you put them in a pen no matter the size. I have seen these animals first hand while doing preserve Pheasant hunts and they hardly present a challenge. And just because a fenced hunting business states they have 600-1200 acres that does not mean that its one big pen, it could be several smaller sized pens. I don't care what a guy does for fun wether its fenced hunitng or free range but the two ain't the same.
  6. This year it will be my Browning A Bolt 7mm with 3-8 Nikon and 150 grain bonded bullets or the 870 with open sights and good old Remington sluggers. I like options so it could also be the BAR 06 or the Lyman .50 cal ml you never know.
  7. Thanks guys, I'm happy, just finalized the deal and we are picking it up Saturday. Got a spray on bed liner thrown in and some actual truck tires instead of the passenger tire that come on all of them now. Now all I gotta do is break it in Tuesday with a dead deer.
  8. That is a list of "Alternatives" no proposals, big difference.
  9. Bye bye Suburban hello 2014 Silverado club cab LTZ. Picking it up today I'm gonna miss the bus but won't miss smelling wet dogs and dead stuff in the same cabin as us. Lol
  10. I'm saving all my best inappropiate jokes for when we meet him. hehe
  11. I have been training this year, you ain't gonna catch me! Last time the bear was into chubby guys and I was in trouble. Lil Steve863 hid in a bush and was safe while Elmer ran for the hills, deer poo in hand.
  12. Couch to 5K program is where its at. It uses intervals of running and walking and builds you up over 9 weeks to a 5K or 3.2 miles.
  13. I'll PM you once we pick some dates and make some plans, I can give you a lift as I pass through too. We hunt Partridge Run state land on our adventure.
  14. Are you looking for gun hunting, bow hunting or both? Elmer and I meet up once or twice a season and would be happy to have you come along. I can't offer a full time spot on the crew but I can offer help tracking, dragging, setting up, ect. I work in Guilderland but live an hour north of here. Mean while Elmer lives an hour and a half south. Let us know.
  15. And I am fighting the urge to discuss all of the false pro AR info on this thread. When in doubt make it up!
  16. You should hold out another three years, the bigger ones make bigger targets for poor shots like you..hehe Cool angle, makes it look Muley like.
  17. I had a trigger spring malfunction in the am leading to no shots going off on a perfect chance and a big fat whiff in the afternoon attempt..lol I hope to get in another attempt before the end of the early season.
  18. Sunny and 70 on my side of NY for the opener, light west wind. I am taking the day off to hunt with the wifey.
  19. My goal is to kill stuff and eat it, wether its deer, turkey, pheasant, grouse, rabbit, goose or duck it doesn't matter.
  20. Happened to one of mine, double lunged a doe and waited maybe an hour for the rest of the hunting party to assist and by the time we got her the yotes cleaned out from the front leg to the hinds bones and all. They were very quick and didnt waste a drop of anything. Impressive critters, lucky for me I was able to salvage all of the rest of the meat.
  21. This thread is great guys! lol Phade you better get a trailer to tow behind the ATV so you can cart your ego around. JUST JOKING!
