    No really you can use it for a doe in the late bow/ml season in the sz. Things are different in the nz.

    I also fished a lot growing up, lived on a trout stream and we had access to Saratoga lake through a great uncle. Awesome childhood!

    Oh and you have an either sex tag and an antler less tag not two either sex tags. One buck possible for bow and one for gun unless you are in a special zone.

    Yes can use both in bow season or both in ml season in southern zone. You could also use a Doe permit during bow season should you have one. To confuse you more, you can use your regular season buck tag for a Doe in the late ml season. You cannot use bow/ml tags during gin season how ever.

    My kids tag along but are to young to hunt yet.

    I vividly remember my first tag along with pops like it was yesterday right down to the hand me down Kmart rubber bottom boots and green 4h hat and especially the doe we saw while still hunting. He missed it, lol.

    From what I have read here, Elk are grazers and wouldn't do well up north. Much better suited for the Moose that are already there.

    First guy was me, and I had to stop to cut a SBD, hope you didn't mind. Second guy was Steve863 and he was most likely looking to do something offensive when you saw him but I can't say for sure hwat his intentions were.

    My dad was telling about one of these types he met, the guy had a lap top, wind sock, spotting scope, wind meter, you name it. He also had a story of the deer he missed last season, lol.

    The trapper I dealt with had a piece of sheet metal that he slid over the traps, it worked to shield him and keep the skunk calm too. Luckily I never had the pleasure of finding a skunk in it, it was my duty to go out in the morning and check it for Pepe La pue.

    Are you trying to create a problem that doesn't exist yet? Nice.... It doesn't exclude any one from being a mentor, that is up to the individual to decide to be one or not. There are 12 year olds bowhunting now too, they also need an adult with them.

    I thought the projected 8000 youth hunters was a tiny amount to you? so 8000 mentors is a massive number and 8000 youths is small..got it. As far as bowhunters for mentors, they are a small percentage of the total hunters, what about all of the gun hunters? lol

    I don't see it as confusing at all. Close enough to talk is simple to understand, physical control is simple to understand, with in sight is simple to understand.

    I would say that part is more to drive home the idea that you must be with the youth and not let them hunt on their own, no need for an exact foot away maximum. But then again I don't feel the need to over analyze every thing either.

    Do you really think there would be any way possible to enforce such a law regaurding distance from hunter to mentor?

    I swear this is the biggest non secret conspiracy ever and hardly any one cares. Damn Government makes us fat and wants us to all get in shape or pay taxes on what makes us fat that they subsidised to begin with. (This is a genralized statement, not directed at anyone here)
