I have a home made one as does all of my family, my uncle made them all. Best hip quiver ever. Maybe I can post a pic later if you want me to? You would probaly want to buy one though I'm guessing.

Any one going out with a youth? I can't find any to take, all the kids I know are either to young or too old. If any one is in the Saratoga area and has a youth that would like to hunt over a dog during that weekend let me know. I will be available the 29th but gone the 30th.

I don't think so, I have seen lots of birds in and around the equipment. I think they may be on the cut corn right now is all but I am not an expert or any help really..lol

Same here, agree 100%

Seeing how it is not a genetic defect and even if it was you won't influence genetics, let him go if he doesn't meet your goals. Don't worry about what others would shoot.
-
Yes, I like to call it muscle memory. That's why some times when I shoot I only focus on form and don't worry about hitting bullseyes. Same thing as blank bail shooting.
-
Can't say I do, but I know it would be usefull to help form. I have shot thousands of arrows over the last 25ish years (I am 32) so I kinda got the form thing down. most of the time..lol

Here is mine from today, 20 yards. Don't be bashfull, show em! I had a good one from 50 but didn't get the idea till after, opps.

I'm not argueing I was just curious as to how they control the population in such a situation. -
Would you shoot it? Me personally I would rather see one that shoot one, but thats just me. Same with any of the Fox I have seen too.

60+, not being a dink just saying its very difficult to guess a weight of an animal you aren't accustomed to seeing. That cat looks to be every bit of 30 pounds to me, short body, short legs and built for speed.

Guess the weight of the dog in my Avatar, I want to see how close you are at guessing weights from a photo.

That is a state wide number, may be different in your area. -
100% Bobcat, likely a male because it appears to be a good size. Males run up to 30ish pounds from what I just googled.

Actually I beleive 96% of doe are breed during the rut. Thats damn good if you ask me and the ratio is said to be close to 1-2 buck to doe, accourding to the DEC of course. I would be more than happy to come shoot doe's for you. I was off a bit on my numbers, here is a cut and paste... "Statewide pre-season adult sex ratios average about 1.6 adult doe per adult buck; yearling antler beam diameters indicate deer are in good physical condition; and more than 94% of adult female deer are being bred with more than 86% of conceptions occurring within a 28-day period centered in mid-November" -

Those not reported are figured into that total take number, so in essence they don't matter in reference to the big number. I would wonder if the one's not recovered are counted as part of the loss number thrown in with car accidents and natural deaths and so on. But still how many do think would it be state wide? Can't be that huge a number compared to the total deer take. The main numbers should be starting amount of deer and projected end amount of deer, how the deer die's doesn't matter in that number. -

Well give me a few years and I'll train a few more guys on bow herd management, lol, I bet we can get that number up to 25-30% -
I would consider searching the area for more lots to hunt too, never hurts to have a few spots lined up and that way you can still stay at camp and hunt the area.
