  1. Well it’s a good thing Chef never posted a map to where his camp is on the internet for the DEC to find him easier. Right Chef?
  2. Pygmy Sqautch. 100% positive
  3. I have nothing to scout around me so I’m taking a drive to a better area tomorrow to scout that is 70 miles away or so. Im not sure if they are still bunched up or in woodlots elsewhere but it is dismal as of now. Two harsh winters and crappy hatch seasons are taking a toll locally I fear.
  4. I would post links but there are too many. Seriously google deer attacks man and see what you get.
  5. My opinion is they did it because they wanted to dump gun inventory any way. They announced they want to build online sales. They can’t sell guns online so why keep them. The timing just worked out to their favor, they probably don’t care about anything but PR and sales.
  6. A buck in the rut is probably more likely to attack than a coyote. Lol
  7. Then you would be legal to kill them. I can trap and kill coons that try to kill my chickens or try to live in my attic. You can kill Coyote or Fox that harass or kill live stock. You can’t however kill or poison them because you are scared by their presence.
  8. Difference is none of those are protected by state law.
  9. We all said to make them leave without killing them too. Would not have been to hard honestly.
  10. And they said they were doing it by the federal law so it’s not a big secret lol.
  11. Except for it is different. Chucks don’t have a season so kill away. Something damaging your house or threatening/killing livestock is different.
  12. It’s true, saw it yesterday and reread it today. They could have returned them to the manufacturer but opted to destroy them instead.
  13. Weee tough talk from a law breaker who’s afraid of killer animals. How do you know it was even a coyote den, you didn’t see anything or hang a cam. Maybe stay in the burbs on the weekends where you are safe. Might be a rabid chipmunk roaming around you know.
  14. Same here, their either good or bad with no in between. How many Roos are you going to have with 100 hens? Seems like the guy would be wore out lol
  15. I used long smaller diameter trees for the structure of my runs then attached fencing etc. Works great, is free and if one rots I toss in the fire and cut down a new one. Old trampolines make good hoop house frames too fyi. Easy to come by by surfing craigs list.
  16. I’m not afraid of a wild dog, you have two hunting dogs so worse case scenario turn em loose. Now I would be hesitant to let them run because you put poison out, it works on domesticated animals too I’m sure. And as noted above they will disperse from your presence alone. You sound like a damn yuppie afraid of an animal that you haven’t even seen to know what it was. We deal with Coyotes, Fox, Fisher etc on a daily basis and I have yet to be scared or have to kill any of them. And yes that is right around the house.
  17. It’s fun getting different breeds and rare breeds, I can’t remember all of the different types we have or had. It’s also fun meeting fellow chicken nuts and buying or trading birds. I would be just as happy with 6 hens and a roo as I am with 30 something hens, 3 roo’s and three turkeys plus what ever number of meat birds we order this year.
  18. True that! We treat for worms with vinegar in the water, even had to give antibiotics to each in the beak over the winter. Keeping the coop clean and providing Diatamatious earth to kill mites is another regular regimen. It never ends actually. Lol
  19. We added more hens and picked up better looking older roosters, just when I thought she was cutting back...... She couldn’t resist a Polish Roo with the crested head. Along with the Silver laced Wyandotte and another one I can’t remember that is blue/grey. Our egg sales went through the roof suddenly, thankfully the hens are laying at a good rate to keep up lol.
  20. I always think about a dedicated rig but then I remember I have a half dozen shotguns already and I talk my self out of it. Plus with my taste I’d be out well over a grand lol.
  21. Re-17 is good with 140 grainers, RE-15 is better with 120’s. Work loads up by starting with the low charge and go up from there noting accuracy each step of the way. Just because a certain load may work for one guy doesn’t mean it will work for you. My sons Axis 7-08 does really well with 120 ttsx and Re15 at max load. Savage tends to have a tight allowance from magazine to chamber so you may need to work your OAL a bit.
  22. https://www.amazon.com/Williams-Universal-Slugger-Shotgun-Sights/dp/B001U9WI2S or a Red Dot.
  23. Isn’t this a “camp”? Let me guess, the den that is next to the wet area sits uphill and up stream of your well. Great idea putting poison into the water system like that. I would be more concerned with that for my child than I would a den in back of a camp I didn’t live in full time but it’s your world.
