Got one getting closer but I’m not sure he’ll come. Naturally he was across the road and up in the fields, never fails lol

Stepped out of the blind after the fog lifted and heard two diff toms. Sitting tight.

Fog almost broke for a minute and I had a reply. No idea what direction it was so I’m back in the blind and the fog rolled back in.

Quiet here. I’m betting the heavy fog will have them sleep in.

All settled, heavy fog and one other hunter. Thankfully I found him and let him know where my blind was. He asked if I minded if he set up next to me basically lol. I said sure, they were roosted over there yesterday and down there two weeks ago. He told me he hadn’t heard one here when he came yesterday. I’m gonna sit tight till later then take a walk away from my buddy lol.

Sounds like the toms broke up in the last week and half. That’s a relief.

Got my blind set up and I’m listening to the toms gobble as we speak. Snow on the ground and more up on the top of the mountain. Jumped 5-6 deer on the way in One more day to go.

Did you get in on the ice out contest? I didn’t but I figured it could be late May early June. Lol I’m switching careers to one that is more in need up there in case we are ready to move in the next 20 years. CDL here I come

I got one of these last year, it’s pretty sweet. I can toss charcoal on the grate or cook over the fire then move it out of the way for the rest of the night.

Don’t worry, I turned the corner the other way. New ML around Xmas and I’ll be ordering a BLR in 358 this week or next. And I still want a bolt in 7-08, left handed of course.

I’m happy to be between jobs right now, I’m waiting on a start date so I’ll have this week at least to hunt till I pass out. Lol

I’ll be out Monday morning to do recon and set the blind. I was very happy to start seeing birds this week around home especially in one of my spots. So I’ll hit those up after the opener at some point. I’ll be flying solo till the weekend when the boy can go.
