As the title states.... YES or NO answers ONLY! Do not hijack my thread with "Proof" and "Opinions" I just want a simple yes or no answer. I'm sick of the CWD and QDMA thread where its one person telling everyone that they're wrong and that more people than not feel CWD helps a herd, makes it healthier, increases the chance for record book bucks yada yada yada..... hopefully this will get a message across to certain people on here that we aren't wrong in thinking the way we do and there is a much larger group that feels the same way. DO YOU FEEL THAT CWD IS GOOD FOR THE DEER POPULATION, IN THE WILD OR IN A CAGE? YES OR NO....

QDMA and CWD

So will you be injecting your deer with it or no? The only answer I want is yes or no....I'm sure a lot of us on here would like to hear the answer to this -
QDMA and CWD
bowaholic replied to Four Season Whitetail's's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
I have an idea.... If you think CWD is such an amazing thing for the deer heard, give all the animals at your place CWD and let us know how they are holding up.... until then stop trying to push it on us who realize that a disease that kills deer and makes them sick is NOT good for a heard.... is AIDS in a human good? no...it kills them and spreads (yes im sure your going to say that im comparing apples to oranges but in reality im not....im comparing a disease that kills to a disease that kills....) -
When you have NY Outdoor News write an article about you, your hunting adventures and HARVESTS then you can throw him under the buss like that....until then, go climb a tree bud

really you get that out of this forum? I get out of it everyone is PMSing at the same time!! hahaha (sorry to offend any woman hunters out there)

I have to disagree with you Biz-R-OWorld when you say 99% of other compound hunters never hunt from the ground. I personally hunt about 90% of the time on the ground with no blind at all and have killed a lot of whitetails doing this, bucks included....in fact I've killed only one deer from a stand (my first buck). I also know that I am the only person in my family who hunts from a stand during bow season. I have multiple friends who hunt from the ground too. I think that more people than you believe hunt from the ground.

I've spoken to Palmer before as he is a taxidermist and I have an animal there now being mounted(wont say the animal incase he is on here and does a bad job on purpose and has had it for over a year now....should have been done well before now), I've been behind his house and saw the pens where he kept the deer, he now has exotic goats and other animals in the same pen as the deer were in. CWD can be spread through fecal matter in the soil, the un-infected deer comes along eats the grass and then contracts the disease. He is a MORON and shouldn't even have a cat...

I am from Westmoreland in Oneida County, and as I'm sure many of you know, this is where CWD was found in penned deer. Some a-hole, not naming names (cough Palmer cough) had whitetail deer in captivity behind his house about a mile from my house. because of him over 3000 deer in my county and Madison county were killed by the DEC. The purpose of the kill was to look from contaminated wild deer as the genius decided to let some of his "rehabilitated" deer go. One was found in the wild (one he had let go). But due to him thinking it was a good idea my area was nothing like it was before. You can't argue that he could have tested the deer to see if they had the disease because the only way to test for CWD is to take a sample of the spinal cord and glands at the base of the skull. (watched this done as we had to for years take every deer we harvester to a check station for testing) High fenced hunts and deer farming CAN hurt the wild population.

I feel your pain brother! I had to get rid of my truck for a new Rav4 at the end of January. All the guys at work have been busting my balls but the 100 miles a day I drive for work was killing me in gas.... as long as it can pull my boat and sleds thats all I care about. I like the mileage im getting now tho

I can't believe this kind of stuff happens! Schools are too quick to jump the gun on kicking students out before looking into things. If they want to keep students from getting distracted they should board up the windows, get rid of sports, make the kids live at the schools... I mean I was an athlete and I know that I was distracted about the excitement for practice and games.... the squirrels, deer, snowmobile trail and turkeys out the windows distracted me while sitting in class.... a lot of kids have personal lives outside of school at home and with friends that distract them.... you mean to tell me that a young girl who is supporting a sick friend is a bigger distraction to other students than EVERTYING else that runs through a kids head during the day? come on..... kiss my blarney stones liberal america

I just put one on my Creed and I love it. I only have been able to sight it in at 20 and align the retina lock so far. I got the 5 pin. Had to buy a light for it tho as it didn't come with one unfortunately but it was only a couple bucks

Depending on where you hunt you can have some THICK swamp or big hills with deep ravines. I drive to work every day through Sangerfield on Route 12 and am always dodging deer in the road. A lot of good bucks there too, my hour long commute to work is more like an hour and a half some days because I pull over to check out the bucks. like RangerClay said, trail cameras will help a lot to pattern the deer as there are some big thick woods. A nice foodplot will work wonders too in drawing them out of the thick cover. Good luck and hope to see some good trail cam pics and a kill or two!

New Video - Predator Problems
bowaholic replied to downwindoutdoors's topic in Small Game and Predator Hunting
did he burry that mouse on his way in to the call?! -
Mission makes great bow for a very reasonable price. Made by Mathews and having all the technology as the mother brand Mission would be a great started bow.

Turkey season is coming up sooner than a lot of people may think but I have one question...where are all the birds?! I hunt in Oneida county and northern Madison county and have noticed a SEVERE drop in the turkey population over the last four or five years. Fisher population I know is rising and they are spreading, so I think that this is a main reason for it. My father has had people tell him that there is an eye parasite that they have been getting which kills them, (starvation, predators etc.) During deer bow season I had a hen with three polts that couldn't have been bigger than a crow walk under my stand. I used to see bird everywhere! I'm just curious if it is just my areas that the population has dropped or if it is a state wide issue.

2013 Safest Hunting Season In NY History
bowaholic replied to Cabin Fever's topic in General Chit Chat
look at the stats....one of the injuries was a youth hunter shooting himself during the youth season, another was a 15 year old hunting alone during the regular season shooting himself.... -
Looks like an average yote to me just the guy is sitting a few feet behind it since its just in a trap and still alive. People do the same with fish and deer they shoot to make them look bigger.
-
I saw/read it. Good article and congrats on the accomplishment. My own cat slam consists of a trap, car and truck...I doubt ill get any recognition in NYODN about that
-
man I really like that second buck! Hopefully we can all get a good close up of him next year!

it is a coyote again...why does everyone think your coyotes are bobcat, cougars or lynx?! long fluffy tail, black tip and dog ears...
