Governor Announces Support for Crossbows in NY
bowaholic replied to Tinlodge's topic in CrossBow Hunting
I wouldn't thank that man for anything.... -
its tail is curled and head is down because it is jumping to the left...can see its tracks in the snow and the length of time from spot to spot.
-
for sure coyote by coloration and size compared to the fox....
-
100% Chupicabra!
-
I wonder if a lil $$ incentive would change their opinions haha
-
and id also say that the sheds can't be far. I bet he doesn't have a very big range now
-
I'm going to be "that guy" and say it...here is proof that bow hunters aren't the only ones who wound and lose deer. I hate that stereotype more than anything...

I got tags for the first time this year. How are the locals with land access? Also I hear the college lets you hunt their properties, Is that true? I know through working part time at Colgate University colleges tend to have a lot of land off campus and tons of deer!

permanent ladder stands on public property?
bowaholic replied to Fingerlakesman's topic in Deer Hunting
I was hunting county land by me last week and found a large wooden box blind (for sure permanent) as well as a large wooden ladder stand that was screwed and nailed into the tree. This is for sure County land and I think like the OP said its wrong because it takes away the land from other hunters. High poaching area as well, found and reported a large buck with a neck shot and the antlers cut off 75 yds from the road while hunting the day I found the stand and blind. it was last Friday we found it so if it was a muzzleloader kill (remember it was a neck shot) the person would have found it and took it or even if for some crazy reason they didn't find it that day the coyotes would have for sure. the deer was completely all there and not eaten by anything at all, not even crow pickings... -
I got some tags for the January Thompkins county deer hunt at the end of January and plan on going down for a long weekend. Has anyone else participated in this season? If so how are the locals with granting access to their land. And how is the college with letting you hunt their land?

How can you say its not a start and very far from good? I'm not happy either as I'd love for this SAFE B.S. to go away completely too but just a few months ago many feared that we wouldn't even be able to carry ten in a clip and now we will be able to...and if we can get one part of it corrected then there is a possibility that we can have more corrective actions taken. Believe me this is not a start. This is a set back. All that he said was bad was the part where you can have more bullets in your gun. But you still can not get the gun they go in. This is far from good. Very far. Look at ti this way. He is saying all but the number of bullets is ok with the safe act. Really? There is no victory here. He threw a little bone to make us happy. I for one am not happy

Bushnell Trophy cam problem
bowaholic replied to ATbuckhunter's topic in Trail Camera Reviews and Info
could be too much sun. I noticed mine were taking really washed out colored pictures. I just moved them and they took better pictures. Try not to aim them directly East or West if possible. -
Bushnell Trophy cam problem
bowaholic replied to ATbuckhunter's topic in Trail Camera Reviews and Info
I use these cameras and have had the same kinds of issues but if you slide the button from OFF to SETUP and wait for the screen to turn on before you go to ON that usually works for me. And the Date/Time issue could just be the batteries coming loose, ive had that problem before. GL -
Stick with it and you'll connect sooner or later! welcome to HNY brother
-
Put enough time in with the bow this year with one kill, my muzzleloader is patiently waiting for its turn!
-
Can we get a HNY Moderator to just start deleting the one post wonders on this thread? As fun/funny as it is to read they are obviously the same person trying to make the club sound like the holy grail of deer hunting which it obviously is not! There is nooooo way it is just a coincidence that all of these people's very first and only posts just happen to be on this thread and ALL of them say it is an amazing place....

Ray Lewis is paying 50% of the fine and Tedy Brushci is paying 1/4th of the fine as well. Class acts, minus the murder charges and being a PAT!!! hehehe
-
We tried getting powder for our smokeless muzzleloader from Natchez Shooting Supplies but they said since it was on back order and they wouldn't have it until after the first of the year they couldn't send it even if we paid before January 1st

Two years ago I counted over 100 shots by noon, yes I actually counted all the ones I could hear haha
-
Its like a war zone near me! Three years ago my dad got his deer early (hour after legal light) so I helped him drag his out. I almost didn't go back into the woods because it literally sounded like a war zone. Luckily I did because I got my best buck yet, thanks to the apparently poor shots in the woods
