    HEY SKILLET!!!!

That doesn't sound like a good breakfast!

    Trout season

I've used corn in NY and PA for years and have never had an issue with anyone saying it is illegal. It looks like the powerbait stuff on the hook. And if you get hungry, you have a snack to pop in your mouth. Caught plenty of fish on it as well. There is a small stream by the house and the kids and I hit it in summer with corn. We've caught sunfish, bass, trout, and suckers. Try it sometime.

Corn is the best bait for stockies. It reminds them of the pellets they are fed at the hatchery. I prefer the Double Luck brand from Wal-Mart at $0.49 per can. What can I say, I splurge a little when it comes to trout fishing.
  4. My FIL hunts in Craig Colorado all on BLM land,no guide. His buddy has been going for over 25 years so I guess he is the guide. They apply for the mule deer license lottery and can buy the elk tags over the counter out there if they don't get drawn.
  5. You guys are giving wooly wayyy too much info naming towns.
  6. I'm usually a fairly quiet person and do not seek out confrontation but I would have blown a gasket on this lady. It is definitely a changing world isn't it. I feel bad for my kids and everyone else's as they are going to run into more and more of this as they get older.
  7. Look at that Squatch in the 2nd to last pic. Boy they are uglier than I thought. Hahahahaha Nice pics
  8. I saw them on the Steel Wheels tour as well in the early 90s with Living Colour opening up for them at the Carrier Dome. Great show. Just heard today that the Steve Miller Band is playing at Binghamton University soon. Another oldie but goodie. No Mozart or Bach, but music is a universal language spoken in many tongues, tempos, and genres. To each his own.

    Trout season

My BIL grew up in Miflinburg, PA and they have a hunting and fishing camp in the Bald Eagle State Forest. I believe the name of the stream is Pine Creek. Not very wide, and has some nice holes in a short stretch (about 150yrs long) The creek is stocked but there are holdovers and brookies as well so it is a good time. Usually get there Friday night, play poker and get silly doing shots and such. Can't start until 8am so sleeping in is nice if you can get sleep.Headed to Center County as well to get my PA license to carry this year. About a month away and can't wait.

    Trout season

The past 3 yrs I have been going to PA with my BIL for the PA trout opener. Haven't trout fished in NY since. Season opens 2nd week of April and we fish in the mountains so the streams are Crystal clear and not too crowded. Caught my limit last year by lunchtime. Can't wait for this year. Going to stop on the way and apply for PA license to carry firearm. $20 and 20 minutes of your time so it's a no brainer.
  11. I did Restaurant and kitchen gigs throughout high school and college. Then I worked for a food service distributor for 12yrs and worked up into management. Position was eliminated in 2006 and I was hired as an Assistant Manager in a dry grocery warehouse. They sold in 2010 and now I am the Warehouse Manager for a local screen printing and embroidery company.
  12. Susan - I hope you read this. I think what you are doing is wonderful. It is so refreshing to see you bond with these wild creatures and treat them like pets. Please continue to video tape any and all encounters. I know I would love to see a video with you and a sow with her cubs. I really look forward to seeing that.
  13. I had the 49R, which I believe was harder to find than the single shot, and I just sold it last year to put towards my pistol. Wished it had worked better as I would've kept it but I got it for next to nothing and made out great selling it
  14. Did you "catch a deer" - Which I respond with, I tried but they run too damn fast so I just shoot them
  15. Nice piece and was a nice afternoon with all the sun. Hard to believe it was only 13 degrees. I was at McClains a few weeks ago. He had all his long guns at the show in Albany when I went in so I looked at a few pistols and got an estimate on selling my .22 pistol too while I was there. Maybe ill see you at Tioga sometime when it gets warmer.
  16. What .22 revolver did you get? Better yet, where are you shooting it in these temps? (Apalachin here) If they don't work out for you, let me know and I may be interested to try in my .22 semi or rifle.
  17. The pistol ones did not have a date so no luck there. I saw some other ads that were up for sale from Hudson that were from the 1930s though. Definitely early 1900s IMO.
  18. I'm glad I saw them. There was an ad for Kleanbore .22 ammo dated 1930 and it was in color. Didn't know if was legit or not but looked awesome. I should have taken a pic of that too. Pretty neat stuff. I also did a quick search on Hudson Sporting Goods Co. (The name on the top of one of the pics) and saw some older ads for long guns that people were trying to sell. I found it interesting and again thought I'd share with everyone.
  19. So I had to drive from Binghamton to Syracuse this morning to take my Dad for a test at University Hospital. Preliminary results look good but will find out more in two weeks. So on the way home Dad is starving after fasting for 12 hours plus so he said to stop at Craker Barrel. I had never eaten at one so we stopped and got seated. Lots of trinkets and older signs and things decorate the store. These pictures were hanging by our table so I wanted to share them.
  20. Looks great. Fun time doing it yourself.
  21. Believe me I have searched a lot of places, including Brownells, but am glad someone said Numrich as it never came to mind. Was just looking for some insight to some places I may have overlooked or forgot about is all. And I was being sarcastic about keeping secrets which is hard to do on a forum, so stop being so mean Pygmy!

    Bit good

Holy crappie. Nice catch. Used to hit them like that in the summer on Plymouth Reservoir outside of Norwich when I was a kid. Gramps taught me how to jig for them. Miss those days.
  23. 240 views and everyone is keeping their sources quiet. I understand. I found a site that allows backorders so I placed an order. Was $3 more than the cheapest site I previously saw it on in November.
