  1. Try golf. I'll take pennies a day that still add up to a very reasonable number for an activity I can do daily, year round.
  2. This one would be good. Option is to do away with seperate mz seasons and have 2 seasons only: - ALL bows in bow - ALL guns in gun Really simple
  3. Try rereading my post - I said TWICE "just for me. Nothing negative towards ANYONE else. NEVER claimed that bad things have not happened to me. Just said that not recovering while meat is still good WILL take away from both the hunt and trophy experiance for ME. Hope the caps made it a little easier for you to understand - if not, let me know and I'll try to make it even clearer. Or if my thoughts on what it means to ME are just to difficult to understand, try skipping over my post.
  4. Interestingly, I do not hear anyone complaining that the introduction of rifles will ruin the tradition of hunting with a S/G. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
  5. Facts will do that - especially when you don't have any of your own ;D
  6. 365 days to fish, 4 weeks of turkey hunting and aprox 9 to 10 weeks of deer hunting - comes out to pennies a day. For comparison only.
  7. Possibly got close if shooting off a bench. But offhand first shot you weren't even close.
  8. Dishonest is: It was no different than shooting my slug gun, minus the boom. Again please - drinking and shooting do not mix.
  9. I've shot one. It was no different than shooting my slug gun, minus the boom. Nothing at all like shooting a bow. As for the rest of your post....... : Inaccurate (and I am being polite) on most every point, Should not mix alcohol and shooting - obviously effects your judgement. Or since the ballistics and killing potential are the same with a crossbow and a compound, you are saying a compound and your slug gun are similar as well.
  10. Same dictionary - def of bow: a weapon that is made of a strip of flexible material (as wood) with a cord connecting the two ends and holding the strip bent and that is used to propel an arrow Doesn't say a thing about wheels, cams, cables, etc. Seems like what we call bows has changed as well
  11. Just checked Webster's online - not one thing for crossgun, x gun or anything similar. I did find the following for crossbow: http://www.learnersdictionary.com/search/crossbow">crossbow</a> a weapon that shoots arrows and that consists of a short bow attached to a longer piece of wood ??? ;D
  12. I believe there are some areas down toward the city and possibly the island where additional buck tags are available. Using last years tag this year is not technically true. You have to use it before the end of the season - Oct 1st starts the new season and it is then no longer good.
  13. Plus be impossible to monitor. And what happens midwinter when a feeder goes unfilled for a few weeks? Habitat improvements are one thing - artifical, here today gone tomorrow feeding is another, and never a positive for wildlife.
  14. Just for me, I can't see doing anything but making knife handles if that on a buck I didn't find while the meat is still good. Looking at any kind of mount would just remind me of not getting it done - whatever the reason. I sure wouldn't score it, but would burn the take. Again, just for me.
  15. Lots of good reading in the book you get with your licence and online.
  16. Just another "reality" show with nothing real and manufactured drama.
  17. Because if deer need supplimental feeding, the herd is beyond capacity. Plus wild animals never should never be feed - to do so removes the "wildness" as least to some degree.
  18. The survey was sent out to ALL license holders, not just bowhunters. Pure fabrication. Pure lie. Do some research. I have....me....I never got one and I don't know anyone that has? did they pass them out at a NYB meeting? Other then a short one at the yearly dinner, there are no meetings. At least none the general membership can attend.
  19. And again, compounds have a greater range then recurves - the bows the bowseason was started for. With that reasoning then compounds should be pushed back out of bowseason into their own - maybe the late mz? Actually should only be 2 seasons - ALL bows in bow - all guns in gun.
  20. No - because guns use GUNPOWDER for power.. Bows use limbs and a string for power. Think someone claiming to be the savior of bowhunting would know that. ;D
  21. That's going to leave a pretty serious mark! ;D
  22. You think about 1% is a small minority - around 2000 out of 200,000? I think in the science community this would be considered statistically insignificant LOL....membership is a small minority. But politically, NYB speaks for all 200,000 NY bowhunters....whether you like it or not. No - actually they speak for the handful at the top who run the org as a top down monarchy/dictatorship. That's why they can sign up 20 to 30 new members at every event and continue to have overall memberships decline.
