I wonder what AR restriction the 54% think would help save 1.5 bucks in 7j and 7h? I personally have no knowledge of of what the conditions are say in 3C for example - therefore would not feel I could give a qualified answer in such a survey - if I was ever polled. I have never talked to anyone or heard of anyone polled for any Cornell or state survey - and I live 20 miles from Cornell.

I see at least 10 times the mz hunters in the late season as I do small game hunters for the entire season. I know nobody who targets late season turkeys. Goose is done on open feilds and duck over bodies of water - neither very disruptive to deer. Mz is way more disruptive by both tactics and sheer numbers of hunters.

I heard at the coffe shop (from a minister whose son is a trooper) that they are having trouble reading the serial number on the ear tag and want to be sure which one it is.

Acyually what I believe is being suggested is that does will still be available by the dmp system where the herd needs or can sustain does being taken. I am fortunate to hunt in a fairly high population area. But I have always wondered at the wisdom of doe tags for all bow and mz for areas where there are no dmp's and population's are low. This is not an indorsement in anyway for what seems to be a very unclear proposal.

There are alarms available for freezers. Had one fail a few years ago (while gone for a week) with 30lbs of venison, a bunch of chicken, and some beef liver. Got home to an oder - opened the door to the room where it was and knew immediately what happened. Then for some reason just had to lift the lid. 20 minutes later the barfing stopped and I was able to call someone to take it away.

I buried 2 4x6 pt posts with another connecting them at the top to hold a hand crank winch. Use it to clean the deck and for skinning/quartering deer. Works great for both.

People are skeptical because with the hundreds of alleged sitings, not one piece of physical evidence or one verified phote ever been offered. Bobcats, bear, moose and even hogs sitings have been verified countless times with all kinds of evidence and photo's. Heck - NY has more "sitings" and rumors then many states where they actually are known to exist.

Facebook Founder Mark Zuckerbergs vows to only eat what he kills.

It's not the anti hunters we need to worry about - it's the 80% of the population that are in the middle. Few of them I know give any credibility to someone like Ted. Mark. I don't know about, but he certainley could not be worse then Ted. -

Woodchuck Head Shot In NJ Over The Weekend!
SteveB replied to TheFieldArcher's topic in General Hunting
Haha....Some moderator. Not only do you get into a stupid back and forth on your forum, but you lose the back and forth as well! haha Next time, win one before you get into two. The only thing WNY has lost is maybe a bit of dignity trying to argue with someone whose only tactic is to insult. -

How about you speak for yourself and not the entire forum. Also, do you use trail cams, scents, food plots or calls to harvest your deer? Some would say you are not hunting fair if you do. If its legal, theres no reason to give the guy crap for it. If he was baiting illegally, then he would be poaching, but he wasnt. Worth repeating - both for the "not speaking for the entire forum" and the complete ignoring of WNY's questions. But then again, it is far easier to just post insults and think you are winning something. -
Unconfirmed, but heard the governer signed it today.

Larry and WNY - stop with the common sense. No room for it in a crossbow discussion. ;D -

Cayuga Heights Deer Culling Plan
SteveB replied to MuzzyLoader's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Bowhunting would not help much in this area. More info in this thread: http://huntingny.com/forums/index.php/topic,4329.msg54008.html#msg54008 -
Size of properties and recovery problems rule out "ethical" hunting. Too few places to meet the 500ft rule and too many small properties to be able to have permission to recover when the deer makes it off the <1 acre where you might get permission to hunt - even if the rule gets changed to 200ft. NYS does not allow you to access under any condition to recover a hit animal if the landowner says no. It would only be a matter of time before either the set back or the recovery laws are violated or become serious issues.

Another "reality" show with no reality and manufactured drama. Lets put everyone in a house on teams, have them "compete" at a non game and see who wants to be a jerk for their 15 minutes of fame. Think it's been done.

Several problems with bow hunting there. Most properties are too small and too close together to get the 500 ft setback for shooting. Recovery would be another huge issue - especially when done over an extended period during daylight hours. The fact is sometimes the only effective solution is not a pretty or popular one with anti's or hunters.
