If you have to read/listen for someone else to tell you whats going on in your area you are already in a world of hurt. Never give any of that rut crap much time. Know the animals you hunt and you will be just fine.

As you did and i believe that was a deer involved or something. Now this? Hmmmm?

When some guys i knew that hunts Letchworth do drives and 1 guy walks right down the edge of the woods on the grass.just off the rocky side of the road. Many a deer have been shot from the side of the road on the park. 100% within the law as long as the shot does not cross the park road.

It helps to be good to turn lady luck on your side.

The only true scent comes straight from the faucet. If i hand you an ounce of doe in heat straight from a doe that i just put into her 60 hour heat cycle, anything in the woods with a p.ck.r underneath him will run you azz over!

Yup really changes nothing. Bow season goes back to where it used to be in those areas and any early season romps will not be in the areas they want hunters to be. This is going to do 2 things...1, Make hunters hunt in areas the DEC does not need them in and 2, hunters will still harvest whatever they want, whenever they want and will do it against the DEC.

Not sure about the rest of it but when i hunt state land i make sure i am miles from other hunters- That i already know what their pattern is. Does not take much to cape and pack out. Any deer taken that far in will be more than worth the xtra work it takes. I have seen and taken my biggest bucks hunting on state land where anyone else can go. Funny how i never seen anyone there???

I agree..I have taped a few over 40 years of hunting and 20 of raising 200 inch whitetails. The heat of the moment is amazing. I love the mess my cut on contacts make also but placement is huge with any shot to get the pump flowing.

No need to crap on the truth... The sooner more hunters learned the truths as this and not listen to the scare tactics the better off they will be. It will be sad that hunting will be a thing of the past before that happens.

I hear ya on the little time to hunt but thats kinda where things stop. You never would have seen that bigger buck after making all the noise of shooting the small one. This is a good video showing someone who will take the chance of eating their take rather than taking a lesser animal. Does will fill the freezer.

Did you watch the video ad listen to what was said? Seems some may not know what a 120 looks like in the heat of the moment. The camera guy also said 170 for the harvested one. Funny how that happens when the blood gets to pumping.

So how many of you guys would have let that first...Little Dink 120class walk? And how many would have not and never seen the biggest buck in your life?

Where they drop is where they lay. For a long time!!! Flys are about the only thing that lands on those things!

Best way to push mature deer away from your stand. Never could see the value of one of them unless it was the ones that send the pic right to your computer. I sure would not want to walk around my hunting area once a week before hunting season.

Dont have to worry about that .We have gave them sure things for tickets and arrests and they didnt have the time or man power. Im sure many are not to worried about it...

Right, Its a guidebook THEY gave HUNTERS of the LAW and if there is something in that book that came from THEM that says there is a season starting Sept 27th then thats on them. Its their guidebook telling hunters when the seasons open.

Really they work pretty good.

If its in the current book it would be considered LAW. They hand out 1000's of those things so even if they did change it somewhere i believe the LAW book they send out would trump all.... Their screw up, Not the hunters!

Went down this morning to the local clerk and got two 8M tags and a booklet. Out the door in 10 minutes tops. Just as it should be!

Agreed and i am one of the ones that have way to much invested in Ny and having a successful life in Ny. I will be damned if i will move or be forced out. Live your life by your hand and dont worry to much about stupid laws they make. In hunting mostly. Its pretty easy for landowners to do their own thing, within reason. Also can have the best of both worlds if ya play your cards right.

On this particular farm they get to do this job and by word in the area...they are very successful at it.

Nope...Invested way to much in hunting property on 3 corners of the state. State land is on them. Our private land...Well, Not so much for their way of thinking. All one has to do is look at all the other states bitching because of no deer to hunt and it all started just like this. Hunters were dumb enough to believe how many deer were out there because the white coats told them that and gave them a fistful of tags to fill. Well they filled them and now a few years later...Hunting seasons are cut and some removed altogether! Ny is headed down the same path. If you let them! I promise you it wont in my hunting areas. Right,Wrong or Indifferent...

You will have no choice. They saw what Andy did and got away with and they will/are doing the same. They will make the rules and you will live by them. Hard to fight something thats already a law!
