Get your vaseline ready NY! Its here...
Four Season Whitetail's replied to phade's topic in Bow Hunting
You bet ya..Our property in 8H is over the hill from the 8M line. Not that i myself would do this on my property or suggest that any tax paying, deer feeding farmer or landowner should do this...Thats for Steve and Biz...But many a nice bucks will be killed in H and scribbled in M...Without a doubt! -

They pay the taxes on that property and its big enough that they pretty much feed the wildlife that lives on it. Not everybody is going to lay back and take it in the behind. Their property and they will do what they please with it and anything that has anything to do with it. Pretty simple really. I take it you have no clue about paying thousands for something and then having some dipshit telll ya you cant do this and ya cant do that? Sorry Son, That dont work for many. Many wont get up on their knee,s for the state or their screwed up rules and laws. You do as you please and others will take care of themselves. -

Many a good bucks will still be harvested in these areas. private landowners are not going to listen to and take this crap shoved down their throat. I know a very good piece of land in 8H that will see no new changes from any other year. Call it lawbreaker, poacher or what have you but i know these hardcore, Land Owning,Tax Paying bowhunters manage THEIR own property for the hunting that they enjoy and the reason they paid all that cash for a good chunk of property was because of the chances and choices that piece of property offered. Nothing will change! -

Wolves can help the ecosystem

Same bullet that takes down a yote will take down a wolf. Maybe they should release just a few down there in those areas over ran with does and give everybody their hunting seasons back? -

Thi will have little bearing on those that choose to take a trophy with their bow. Change the seasons back to what they used to be and you are still chasing your trophy on the 15th of October. Still the best time for most trophy hunters anyways. With October comes the Mad Season!!! -
Dont need ATV when you have a winch. Have all kinds of tree stands and you not only have god givin food plots you have miles of Ag from one end to the other. Cant say we have a problem with anyone sitting within 75 yards of us. With all those rules that price is pretty steep, Will be interesting to see how long it takes for someone to jump on it!

Food for thought: yearling buck protection
Four Season Whitetail's replied to Buckstopshere's topic in Deer Hunting
Bucks spread CWD more because of their male ways. They also disperse so they travel more. Ny is not much worried about CWD like it once was. Those other states that are trophy hot spots will now be losing out of state monies because of stupid rules to try and fight something that has been around for years. Andy and Ny are willing to try and get some of that out of state cash, If they can make the deer first. CWD is still the same political joke it has always been. And now those politics even refuse to supply the money to test for CWD. About all states test less and less wild deer every year. -
August 4th.....How Much Antler Growth Left?
Four Season Whitetail's replied to Lawdwaz's topic in Deer Hunting
Sorry bud but not true. I can show you plenty that are still black, balled up and hot to the touch. Bloodflow!!!! Just fixed a broken point on a yearling over the weekend that was blowing blood with every heartbeat. Yes all deer are different but early August see's many still putting on inches. Mine will start turning grey the last few days of August and be hard horn by middle of September at the latest. -

I hope you dont think they get even remotely close to right numbers by doing this? I could show ya piles of deer that never see any of those places. -

August 4th.....How Much Antler Growth Left?
Four Season Whitetail's replied to Lawdwaz's topic in Deer Hunting
What they have for width is pretty much what they will finish with, mass has been decided by now also. If those tips are balled up and black on the ends then there is still blood flow there and they may add an inch or two on their points and main beams. couple three more weeks and they will grey up until shedding the cover and showing those jewels they have been working on the last few months. -

Trophy bucks on horizon for Ny state. Bigger bucks will bring in out of state hunters. They wont have to go all the way to Ohio.illy,Kansas when they can stop off in Ny. Or something like that. LOL Someone has the bigger plan all figured out. -

Rattlesnake Hill can get ya back into no mans land! -
Nobody will make anybody hunt where they dont want to hunt. If trophy deer abound then hunting land will be about impossible to find. you will have to buy land or be involved in a high dollar lease. High fence will still be very popular with bigger deer at the same amount of money. If disease takes over then high fence and their tested deer will be balls in with the public because they will know they are hunting on a tested ranch. Could get interesting!

Trophy hunter and whitetails do not sit in the same statement. Trophy whitetail hunters still eat the venison they kill. They just like a little more bling on top of their head. Deer hunting is going to go one of two ways i believe. If disease comes into play very few will hunt wild untested deer or if no disease it will turn into trophy hunting with very little land to hunt unless you get your checkbook out. Good, bad or ugly i believe big changes will be headed our way in the next few years. Now to kill a lion as a trophy or a bobcat, Mt Lion to mount..Not so much!

When do you know you have coyote problem?
Four Season Whitetail's replied to GR HUNTER's topic in Trail Camera Pictures
Same thing happened to my old stomping grounds up in Black Lake, The back side of the lake was some of the best hunting there ever was. Big deer and lots of them. State land of course and when yotes moved in..The deer went by the wayside..Dead-moved out..You be the judge. Started to happen in this next piece of heaven but that got taken care of real quick... Deer and Turkey abound. Well minus a few Turkeys after this winter. -
So you say deer is your number 1...
Four Season Whitetail's replied to Four Season Whitetail's's topic in Deer Hunting
So hunting is not so much for...The Challenge..for you? Just simply set up,kill the deer and head for the freezer. That works for many. -

But that deer is still a trophy in your eyes of such? Regardless of head gear. A big gnarly 4 point rack on coke can size beams has been a trophy for me right along with racks that would push 140-150jnches at other times. Every year that..Trophy ..changes but i wont know what that is until i find him and hunt him to the end. Most times anyways. Always have a new one pop up while targeting the one that was found. -

Four Season Whitetail's replied to Four Season Whitetail's's topic in Deer Hunting
Nope..Meat is good..Funny that nobody has asked about the sex of the deer. It takes a special male to be killed but any adult female will be taken. They all pretty much look the same right? -
True...You can feed a poor bloodline deer all he wants and he will only get so big. On the other hand you can not give a top bloodlined deer that has the genetic makeup to make a set of 250 inch antlers all he needs and he will never show you those antlers. What came first. The fawn or the food?
