I won Doe Estrus, now what?
Four Season Whitetail's replied to nycredneck's topic in General Hunting
Agreed but a mature buck will very rarely chase a doe. When a buck matures he knows when the does are READY to breed. It comes with age. I ride down the thruway ad see 10-12 dead bucks from Syracuse to Rochester during my rut trip down to my farm and 95% of those bucks are little baby bucks, hence the chase phase. Not to often you see mature bucks splattered because they know when its time and they lock down a doe in places like the bottom of Letchworth state park or the thickest, nastiest part of their area and spends a couple days having a ball. Its tough to fool a mature buck with scent and if its not fresh and if the pheromones are not there, neither will most mature bucks. The urine is an attractant but the pheromones tell the true story. -

So do you think if a mature buck smells fresh doe in heat ln the middle of summer he would come a runnin? Mature bucks know when its time and when the does are REALLY ready to breed, not just smell nice, I mean breed. I see it live and in person on a yearly basis. Mature bucks laying there chewing their cud while the little guys with their..Stecter Picking Out chase the doe around looking for action. -

It will work for some but 99.9% of the time this early it will be the little guys and you will educate the mature bucks. They know when the time is right. If any buck will work then dont be afraid to give some FRESH scent a try. -
Pretty funny right here!

And if this does not take the King off the throne this year he will never come off. -

That would be the NRA. The King will burn this guy at the stake without alot of this backing. Even gun makers are not showing the love! -
They back states with their money to try and stop a persons right to high fence hunt but dont support this? I love it! http://www.syracuse.com/news/index.s...l#incart_river

I believe the Hanson buck was taken in Canada.

They have been awesome so far. A local motorcycle dealership had Juice and Tig here a couple weeks ago as a promotion and it was shoulder to shoulder in that place. Drinking a few cold ones in the parking lot, they made a party out of it for sure.

You didnt provoke a rant. You got the truth. Like it or not. We are infested and if it takes killing them on site then thats the way it will be.Like it or not. In fact in order to hunt the monster mature bucks that live on my farms you had better be busting a cap on them on sight. You want to hunt turkeys you had better be folding them up when they come in and grab your decoy. Trust me, I have no lack of people willing and in fact do just that every season of the year just to hunt the great game on our farms. We refuse to let vermin wipe out what we hold dear and work hard to keep our hunting experience the best it can be at all times. By all means you continue to do what you think best on your property. And i think your idea of them repopulating as fast as you take them out holds very little water.

You took the whole post wrong. Point being if you all want to live by the so called rules and let something in your personal life be ruined because of what some white shirt, blue tie says he thinks that this is how it should be then you have at it. I will do what is right by me and my property regardless. Every situation is different and if you saw and lived with some of the things that we do around here many would sing a different tune. Around these parts coyotes are shot on site 24/7 365 and have been for some time. They keep comin and they keep...well you know the rest. I wonder if some of you that agree and live by the word of the book agree with Andy,s way of thinking also and live by his rule? Must be i am old school because i dont!

This statement shows that you have yet to feel...That Feeling! Hope for you that someday you do. It does not come with every deer or buck you see. You will know when its your turn!
-
Lets get something else straight...If you or anybody else came here and stole my property, threaten me or my family or try to ruin what i worked my life for...They will probably get shot also! There is a breaking point and i myself give a rats behind what some guy sitting in an office tells me what to do about my problems! I will deal with them my way. Thats like a state trying to protect a deer from CWD that will not kill them for years but a country will not protect its people by letting every Tom,Dick and Harry bring a bug in from another country! You want these same assclowns to run your life, have at it. Not Me!!!!

Just an AWESOME animal.....Congrats! You know that feeling you had when you first saw him and you knees went weak and you lost your breath? Thats the feeling you get when you know you are looking at a top class whitetail and if many others could get that feeling just once they would never kill another yearling again! Good for you!!!.

Well lets see here, You tell me. Here we are opening night of Muzzle season and a guest and his first time taking a whitetail young son are standing over a big doe in tall grass checking out this young mans first kill, in pitch dark with 2 headlights. After all the happy stuff with the boy happens the dad gets his knife out and starts the dirty work, Well not 2 minutes into the job a pack of yotes lights up in the bean field across a beaver dam, very close and getting closer. This kid is already messin his pants at the sound of them but we cool him down and move on with the job but dad is moving a little faster. Well just as we get done 3 of these brazen pieces of crap are standing at 15 -20 yards from us growing and baring teeth. Now i will tell you one did die that night and every one after that night on sight. When a pack digs under an 8ft fence and takes out a neighbors 9 tame goats and fallow deer and eats off but one, thats a problem! When you have 60 thousand acres of wild uncontrolled acres of military base across the road from your farm with yotes, bear, deer and turkey with very little hunting allowed you will get an over population of animals. When i have guys with dogs kill 20 plus yotes about every weekend around my farm, I have a problem and if you think im going to sit back and let some people that have shown how clueless they can be when it comes to managing wildlife tell me to sit back and just watch my safety, land, livestock and money go to the animals you have another thing coming! I manage my property the way i see fit. When they start paying the bills maybe we can talk about it, Untill then i will deal with it the way i see fit, Thanks. Now back to your tree's!
-
Yeah and we dont have any of those pesky problems of a screwed up herd with sex ratio way out of whack or the ones with no animals at all. But hey if you want to sit back and let someone else ruin your property, if you own any thats your choice. I believe i will take care of and make the decisions on land that i own.

NY #1 in worst state to deer hunt in
Four Season Whitetail's replied to HectorBuckBuster's topic in General Chit Chat
FSW sure has not read any of the 68 pages and will not bother. When it comes to QDMA although i do agree with parts of the whole concept of it, when it comes to their stance on deer farms and high fence they like to talk out of both sides of the face. You see after the smoke all cleared and the facts shown the 2 of the top dogs of the QDMA own,run and profit off of deer farming and high fence hunting by owning and running such in the states of Florida and Pa. Let alone profiting from both by selling high fence hunts every year at their fundraiser. But to get back on subject, a little while back i was slammed for kinda making my own rules when it comes to my land but i do so and i enjoy watching mature bucks chasing does around in our corn and bean fields through the months of Nov and Dec when everyone else around our property see's very little. If you dont like the way things look on your property then change it. Letting someone that sits behind a desk and tells you what, where and how many should be taken when they have no clue as to whats there will just get you a little more time sitting up in the tree's watching the geese fly by. Sorry thats not for me and i dont see my hunting in Ny state to be bad at all on either ends of the state! -
You are just in the beginning. If they are let to take root in your direct hunting area you might as well take up duck hunting or something. I let the so called experts in DEC tell me for years what is best for my farms when it came to harvest numbers and harvest times and all that did was ruin hard earned purchases of land for a sport i love on a couple ends of the state. Those days are long over! Special permits Steve!
-
Yup special permit!
-
They will ruin your land in a New York Minute. Some on here think not and love them and thats fie but i will tell you that my 700 acres were turned upside down from packs of yotes. After 2 years of war with them 365 days a year i believe i have them beat back enough that they dont call the farm home. They still come through but not living here. SSS..
-
Yes Sir, So many people ruin their chances at great bucks during bow season by hunting good spots when the time is not right. Yes some will get it right and run into a good buck early but i would say most hunters educate the bigger deer early and set them on guard way to fast.
-
Doc i have used Tinks before and had it work great and then use another time and have them turn inside out trying to get away from them. Its all about the pheromones when it comes to using doe in estrus and you can only get them in fresh collected scent. Its all about the VS.Vaginal secretions..from does that are in the 58 to 63 hour breeding window when it comes to collecting on the farm. If you have a friend of a friend of even a friend and can get your hands on this in the month of November...Hang on because you will have bucks..mostly young bucks pin you up in the tree because they will not leave the area. Kinda scary to have 3 little guys beady little eyes staring at you as you come down the tree a half hour after dark and you know what that thing in their pants are thinking>>.LOL
