  1. Just goes to show what you can have if you let them grow..
  2. Lol Thats a good one eddy....I am about 10 miles north of watertown and about 60 south of bubba...Lol..
  3. I will get a pic on today.Yes it has the straps. Its like new,no rips or tears, great condition.Just been hangin around in the barn the last couple years as i have another of the same and 14 loc-ons.
  4. I still have the openshot viper climber if there is any intrest or needs. This stand is like new and is great stand for the serious bowhunter!!
  5. clayton is about 20 minutes from my farm.Great place to fish out of and with the river dumping into lake ontario in that area you have some of the best fishing in the world!!!
  6. He still has some growing to do!!You can see the tips are still a little black and still have a ball look to them. If you see a buck now with no brows,He wont have any this year!!
  7. If that is all it would take to make you a criminal one has to wonder how many you have all ready taken behind the scenes???
  8. Sounds like you are on your way to an ar conversation!!! LOL
  9. I think you have it wrong.Stuben and st lawrence have the most deer taken in the buck and doe take but i dont believe the largest deer taken!! I read the same thing somewhere!!
  10. No disrespect doc but i do not think that is the case.Hunter numbers are going to drop no matter what the dec decides. With hunters getting older and the population in general getting lazy in their lifestyles and not to mention the kids of today not picking up the sport hunting could some day be doomed as we know it. If you think that statement is poppycock just take a look at the high fence hunting operations in the country.Trust me when i say they are getting more and more clients every year!!!
  11. I know the last few years i have seen bigger deer taken in livingston and wyoming counties down south.Have seen a few still runnin around also!!
  12. If a guy goes fishing for say walleye and the size limit is 15in and you only catch 12in you have to throw them back.Guess what.. the state just told you what you could keep. They dont care if you only fish a weekend or two.AR is no different. Will you go fishing again and hope for a keeper...you bet you will.We all do and we all will.Same thing with deer. You will keep going untill you get a keeper!!!!
  13. We are getting less hunters either way so if the population gets to large..They will just give more tags to us that are still in the game!!
  14. I dont get it.Years ago you couldnt get a doe tag unless you had 3 hunters. Now you only need one. Things change, laws change, deer numbers change.DEC will do whatever they see fit and we will live with what they say..No Choice!!! Shoot a little one and skin it in the woods if thats whats gunna get you through and make you feel better but either way beat this as much as you like. You still will have..NO Choice!!!
  15. Joe mabey in your part of the woods there are not alot of them.Down here in the black river valley we are loaded with the things.I have had them pin my little dalmation against our sliding back door.We have them runnin up and down our fence in daylight tryin to get in.I have them in the fields yippin and yappen every night. We go turkey hunting and see 2 or 3 yotes all the time.many times in the spring yotes are runnin around with fawns in their mouths.Around here its shoot on sight and to go one step further its a requirement if you want to hunt our land and i have many people knockin on my door to hunt!!!
  16. Yeah regulate every yote you see.Spring, summer, winter and fall!! Less deer, less turkeys=Dead yote anytime chance arises...Sorry just a fact from a guy that has way to many meateaters around him and as i saw over the weekend bears are next!!!
  17. Sorry to hear about your mom! Strange thing this life is sometimes. Enjoy your memories for many years to come! We will be thinking of ya's!!!
  18. I dont think there is a difference. If you plant a plot for the deer,Then you did just that. They will get the benifit of the plot. The bottom line is will you kill that deer on that plot.Put the plots in and do not hunt over them and they are not hunting plots.Put the plots in and hunt over them they are hunting plots.Either way deer will gain from your work because you will never take every deer that hits that plot!!!
  19. Nice buck joe.Thats what a 160 class ny buck should look like!!!
  20. Yeah great buck but dont think its 160 class either.Where is joe on this thread he has scored many and will give a rough idea.Im not sure it a 130 but no matter great buck!!
  21. Big buck that is a great deer. You get to chase some of the big boys that wander off the safty zone up there where your at.Most guys wonder why i leave 700 acres of great land up here and drive 3 hours to hunt down there.Been doin it for over15 years and will as long as i can get over those freakin banks.I just love that place!!!
  22. We have hunting food plots that are small and in tight for bowhunting. Most times for early bow season for the small Hunting plots. We make the larger 2 to 5 acre plots mostly in corn to leave all winter for the deer and turkeys. We still have corn up today that the deer but mostly the turkeys are pounding. There is no better place to smash some toms than in a last year corn plot that is all brought down by the winter weather. We mix it up with soybeans, alfalfa, clover, sunflowers, chicory to keep them in whatever they want,For the plots in front of my stands its only red zone for me!!!
  23. Hey steve if you have never seen a deer sit on its ass and slide down hill you are more than welcome to meet me at the park and i will show you just that.If you have never been to the bottom of letchworth state park you are missing a total different deer. I dont want to sound like a smuck here but its thinking like you have that lets us pull 130 to 160 class bucks out of there just about each year.I will take it one step more than that and i will tell you we see book deer every year some taken, most not. They know how to run them banks and ridges trust me.They are what you say their not!!!!!
  24. Here is a rub that we found last year on the bottom in one spot we hunt at in Letchworth.
