Live from the turkey woods 2016
Four Season Whitetail's replied to turkeyfeathers's topic in Turkey Hunting
They are in full mode right now. 8 dancers spinning around the fields last evening. Looked like only 2 were not full fans. Should be a good opening day. The hens will be setting on the new family by then. -

I am with ya on most..Even the Grange dances. lol Also was a time where a guy could walk anywhere up north where i grew up and hunt. my best bunny spot now holds Ogdensburg's Wal-mart. That is the reason i put my money into dirt and as much as i could get my hands on. Me or mine will never have the lack of spot's or deal with the yellow sign syndrome. Young fellas that hunt today would be smart to do the same! -

They look as they may be done breeding by the 1st around here, Strutters everywhere with fighting and jakes leaving off the bigger flocks. Should be an April 15th area opening day running a month. -
I am with the DEC on this one. Not with many but they would be close with this number i would guess.

NY Deer Hunter Satisfaction Survey 2016
Four Season Whitetail's replied to gjs4's topic in Deer Hunting
Yes Dear we are. Hunting in the real world today is all about the antler and only the antler.Co-op on the little 50k in the real scheme of things may be 0.1%. You can believe in anything you like but most every person that tries QDM has one goal in their mind and thats killing a trophy. You can call it QDM,TDM,CSA or anything else but it boils down to one thing at the end in most every hunters world. Getting the most inches possible. -
We go out at the cut in Henderson and head for the lighthouse. Have not been out as we have the motor getting rebuilt to be ready to rock for for those 13lbs eye's on the horizon. Good Luck.

NY Deer Hunter Satisfaction Survey 2016
Four Season Whitetail's replied to gjs4's topic in Deer Hunting
Thats all sweet and well but to the point of this thread it was shown who supported what in Ny and elsewhere. talk to the Minnesota sportsmen about their past whitetail problems and the support the received from the group they paid their cash to support. There is nothing subliminal about my comments, they are fact. They only difference in QDM and TDM is the mindset of the person doing it and 99.9% of people that do QDM do it to kill a trophy deer. They may take smaller if a bigger one does not show in time but they sure as hell dont go to sleep the night before opening day dreaming about killing that nice plump 11/2 year old spike buck. That's a Fact. -
NY Deer Hunter Satisfaction Survey 2016

Now listen man,,I know you drank the water and you believe but lets not say someone needs first hand knowledge about something. Guys - I wrote a blog detailing my attendance to the latest national convention. It contains the good, bad, and ugly. I also included a short survey to see what it would take to get more attendance. QDMA openly admits that they need to make some improvements. I talked with Lindsay about it at length on Friday. Once I get some more responses on the survey, I'm going to submit all of the information to QDMA. Please take a moment and complete the survey if you would like to see improvements or would like to attend next year. I appreciate what seems to be an honest and fair review. I brought this up in another thread. The QDMA does a terrible job in promoting the convention. There was almost no promotion on this forum, Facebook page or twitter account. I almost has the appearance of really not caring if members attend or not. 350 is a ridiculously low number. I personally thought this years list of speakers was very average. I can understand most vendors not participating Members maybe, but what about using the convention to promote and grow QDMA to non member hunters. I feel that most here on the forum have a true interest in what QDMA is trying to accomplish. The organization has a wealth of information, the more hunters that utilize it the better IMO. Recently there have been major conventions in the general area. QDMA had 350 people, NWTF had 40,000. There is certainly room for improvement Wait. 350? What??? There were only 350 people at QDMA's National Convention???? WHAT THE???? That's not a National Convention of an organization 60,000+ strong. I am SHOCKED and had no idea. Weren't there something like 10,000 at the last one in Nashville?? From the looks of a great number of posts on these QDMA forums, there are quite a few QDMA members practicing TDM So there are just a few posts from the site with naming names but it sure shows ya the truth coming from that site. The Mod's would have it no other way. Shall we go back a couple years and look at some numbers? And who needs first hand knowledge! Add some ice to that glass my friend! -

All you have to do is read it, Look it up. 60,000 so called members and less than 400 show for the big dance in the last 4 years? Yeah i guess thats what they call support. When your numbers are low and they go up some but are still low does not equal success! Pretty Simple. -

You may want to send some of your group to the big show! here is 1 members thoughts. The numbers have been dropping for years. I appreciate what seems to be an honest and fair review. Has nothing to do with selfish..They are trying to improve their land..QDM...To feed, hold and kill the biggest buck they can. Pretty simple.Anyone can believe anything they want but the bottom line with every cut and every seed put in is with the thought of a 130 inch buck gettin harvested in the fall. Look at the fundraiser that qdma has every year and get back to me with the numbers. Say from 2014. -

Do you Disc Your Plots Early?
Four Season Whitetail's replied to LetEmGrow's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
Disc now, Wait a couple 2-3 weeks for new growth and disc again. You will always turn up a few new weed seeds but not as many with the second trip. I spray first the disc or till but you dont have to spray. -
NY Deer Hunter Satisfaction Survey 2016
Four Season Whitetail's replied to gjs4's topic in Deer Hunting
Yes i am talking total members. Does not matter if they are from Ny or Alabama. Well it was easy to see to see how many less there is from that state. Regardless it was obvious what they didnt do. Again the QDMA had no effect on my business or any high fence operation. In fact it is now showing just how wrong they were and the egg is on their face. Funny part is its the deer on their side of the fence that is dropping left and right. QDM is just a process to make trophy deer. Just like a religion, They can believe all they want but their bottom line is to feed and hold the biggest trophy buck they can on their property. The best part is that some are foolish enough to pay their cash to do it? -

Yes..60,000 some members they claim and a tad over 300 show for a fundraiser? For the life of me i cant figure why someone would give their money to a group down south that have nothing to do with your property? I have been using their QDM for years to make trophy bucks. But again kinda off subject for what they do for sportsmen. I guess if you called any of the hunters in Minnesota that were paying members and asked them what the QDMA did to support them in their time of need with their DNR you would get an answer. -

Yeah they say enrollment is up but its kinda funny how every other piece of the hunting world is down. Less hunter-Less land-More Laws.Even at their own yearly fundraiser the numbers are down yet claim that membership is up? Hmmm Strange how that works? -

Yeah so they say...Seems to read different. I guess its like a religion..You have to believe in order for it to work. I do it myself here inside and outside the pens to make trophy bucks but thats kinda off subject. -

I believe he has something with his words. I mean if you listen to their own members on their own site that is. It seems even their members are dropping out because of lack of help. I mean Minnesota alone was a huge problem. -
HaHa...Dont be tellin the truth or you will be accused of stalking somebody on here... Once it gets shot in the azz again and the powers that be commence on the capitol here in a few days this will disappear.

When you put threads up on social media begging for money and signatures over and over you will get replies. When you downgrade others personal life because they do not agree with you then you will get replies. I believe he posts many that never get replies by some. On this subject...He gets replies. Dont get to deep on what drove Growie away.. You might not like what you hear.

Biz-R-OWorld 2016 Season
Four Season Whitetail's replied to BizCT's topic in Member Hunting Journals
That power line would be my number 1 go to when it comes to scouting and maybe some planting. The bucks will stage and walk the inside of that line when it come's scent checking time. Were the rub's very far off the power line? -
Prob not a good thing to down grade other folks because they do not believe in the same things he does. There is nothing to give up. He posts on social media and he will get reply's on social media. He has gone way over the bothering me line long ago on different threads. What comes around goes around. Diminish? Just helping him along.

NY Dove Hunting Ad in DEC Booklet
Four Season Whitetail's replied to mike rossi's topic in Small Game and Predator Hunting
Well bottom line is that you see what there is for support in Ny state for a season on a song bird whos numbers in most parts of the state are far from huntable populations. Kinda like the other birds that have to be stocked and shot. A post or two on a site about a subject will pretty much do the trick for those site users to see, read and make a decision on. To post over and over and over when ya didnt get the support the first time....Well we all know what that is. As far as dogging you over a turkey hunting post is far from being worth my time. When you start throwing out petty names and then make posts the next day about having a few...Well that will do it.- 48 replies
