  1. Dont let the weekend warriors get to ya. The ones that do the most hurt are the ones that have the least amount of knowledge. Its easy to tell who has the experience just by reading the post. If i were you i would be going the other route.
  2. True. But some of us have also helped him pay our money to help him defer some of the costs on this site because at one time it was the best place to go on the net. I dont care about politics or religion on here..Dont want to read it then dont click on it..But the few on here that ruin it with their name calling and Fu2k Y#u pictures thrown up because of their envy and jealousy and they cant handle what they are being told is gone a bit far. Same names on every thread that gets derailed into pissing matches. It is his site to do what he will and $15 a year for the last few years did not break me or make him rich but it will be my last. Its like Uncle Ted said around here...Its a free for All. I brought up WNY because even though we have had our times and he has had times with a few on here, When the name calling and childish vulgar pics came in he dealt with them and let ya know about it. Maybe the Mod's on here need to do a bit more? I would love a term at it on here for awhile thats for sure.
  3. You had a choice with your actions but not a choice on what happened to you. You also had a choice to get all bloodied up and lose your pistol permit but you were bright enough to do just what the young officer told ya to do. That was a smart move.
  4. Without a doubt. Come to Syracuse or even Watertown and meet one of the rookies in the middle of the night with a piece on your side. I have a couple 3 that hunt here and some of the stories will raise an eyebrow. Just the way it is these days with guns. Will get worse as time goes on.
  5. You have a hard time comprehending what you read. He broke a law with his first sentence. He didnt break any others but that cop could have put him thru alot worse right or wrong. And he would have had no choices..Just like the rest of us.
  6. Recoil is not an issue with a little barrel work. For a one high powered big bore rifle hunter that will drop about any game on the face of the earth i will take the 300wby.
  7. You will be fine with the bigger screw in steps. Any falls on them must have meant no safety device in place. Catch that climbing stick and it will tear ya up also. If you find one that does not want to start just try the next one and after you get that one started back it out and put the pain in the arse one in that hole. Have used them for eons with no issues.
  8. He was prob going to say that its overkill or something on those lines..Anyways, I get mine at Gander down off 81 near Central Square. I paid $80 last fall.
  9. Your not looking hard enough.. lol They are out there but most are crossing the Mule and the Whitetail together to get the best of both.I crossed my first this last fall. If she took i will have the crosses started here.
  10. Really..He had no other choice then to take it the way he did. Broken law with light problem on truck and so on. Cop prob could have made his life much worse than he did if the cop was not a hunter and believed people didnt need to carry guns.
  11. Over and Over..Post after fing post. Kinda a good read and points started and BOOM. Here comes the post cop to blow the shit out of it. What a Joke!
  12. I would have to make that decision at the time but if the town was taking deer by paying sharpshooters with my tax money on top of me paying my own land tax without being able to take deer? Cant say i would not if needed.
  13. Look on the bright side...We all have these high powered air guns to look forward to. Will take care of all the worlds gun problems.
  14. And 40-50 degrees on the way for this weekend. Pretty nice winter all around.
  15. These birds are a thing of the past...Without drop and kill..between running out of habitat and lunch for the vermin they are fighting a losing battle. Grouse are still hanging in there in so areas but are headed the way of the Pheasant. Sad really..They used to be plenty. Must be people signing their names on the facebook conversation? Would be interesting to see if they are some of the same on here, We will never know?
  16. There is a place in Watertown that cuts up deer for hunters. The shop is at a place called Duffany's paint and auto body. He has 3-4 tractor trailer coolers set up there for storage. If this is the same place i know they cut up a pile of deer every year!
  17. Youth's i can deal with but daddy's boy's are just a tad much for me.
  18. Yes Sir he must be close. If it's not spam? It had my attention when i first started reading it as i spend a pile of time on the farm in 8M and could let another hunter or two maybe hunt at the right time!. But????????
  19. Well kinda...Cant say a dog makes you more in touch as a hunter but sure does make life easier and maybe with some make them look like a better hunter than they really are. I mean they find the game.show you where to get ready to shoot and go get it after you shoot it? Kinda takes the hunt out of the hunter if ya look at it that way.
  20. Give Easton View Outfitters a call. Down Albany Ny way. He has a few hundred acres put off for Hogs. Ny cant stop all Hog hunting. Change up the breedings and Presto! Not real sure on all the info but Dave has a great place and will fill ya in.
  21. Depends if the hunter wants to do the hunting or let the dog do the hunting. Choices.
  22. Roughly 180 with my Knight 3 pellets and a 223 grain Powerbelt copper. Never had to try it further but i believe if i could do it out to 250 the setup would. That load punched right thru. Sighted dead on for 100.
