Tips for hunting directly next to a corn field
Four Season Whitetail's replied to mlammerhirt's topic in Deer Hunting
There will be a staging area if the woods are big enough. They will spot up before coming to the corn in the dark. Find rub clusters and you will have found the staging area. -
Very Nice...Monday will see me the same number of rows but will be jamming to one of the best in Def Leppard!

True Dat!! And some would like to cause a pile of negatives to have maybe one positive. Not a good line to follow.

If you look at his time on this site from everything from Yotes,Birds all the way to deer. Never any talk of game taken, Never any talk of guns or bows, Never any talk of trips or game taken, Never any talk of family/kids hunts. But always talk about saving the animals and the birds. Conservation i will give him..Maybe even a touch of PETA in the mix but the hunter sure does not show. Regardless, With this subject and lead being used for how many years on how many animals eaten by how many hunters= No Problems! But to save the birds we all really should bury our gut piles. Funny how they have a problem with the birds catching something but not worried about those same birds spreading something.
-
I can come on here and say i have millions but words are cheap and also a persons words really does say something about their life. I would give you the bird loving conservation with your words but hunter??? Not so much. But your story, Stick to it.

No sir..Thats the point i was trying to make. High powered rifles blasting the heart and lung section of a whitetail? Cant see where the fragments are being found in these tests?
-
One does not hunt deer and not real sure the other hunts at all. The past has not shown much for either. Anyone ever take out a set of lungs on a whitetail and found fragments in the hams?
-
Nah....They wont do a number on a deer herd if not thinned out. My guess is there is no longer much small game in the area as well.
-
Why all of a sudden there is a problem? I mean hunting is and has been on the down slide for years. There was never a problem back when half the people in the country was a hunter?
-
HaHa....This statement coming from you???? Riiiiiiiight!!!

NY Moose Hunting Bill
Four Season Whitetail's replied to BKhunter's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Sorry my friend but have you not seen this guy in action before? Every single thread he gets into he turns it into begging for support to start a new season on Songbirds in Ny state. Sad! -
Very Nice. I have a nice 12 done same mount opposite turn. Bow Buck?

Gotta start carrying ............
Four Season Whitetail's replied to fasteddie's topic in Trail Camera Pictures
I could agree with that as long as it was not one of my better spots for ambushing a buck. More than likely it was a one time encounter and all will end well but that piece of mind knowing you have help in case things get hairy is nice. -

I have no problem with them in their space. As long as it does not overlap mine and mine is really big. Was doing an emergency baler repair last night about 1130 at a friends place and a pack opened up a couple fields over from the field we were working in, My buddy just looked at me and said...There goes another fawn or two. lol. Have not had that problem on this 1000 acre chunk. Strange to because you know the experts tell ya they will just come back in droves if ya kill them off? These new ones must be the silent and deadly type! -
More people enjoy watching and listening to song birds than kill them. I kinda enjoy listening to them while i hunt a species that actually has a viable season.

NY Moose Hunting Bill
Four Season Whitetail's replied to BKhunter's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
There is a huge difference between a bill passed for Moose compared to Dove(Songbirds). They will have paying hunter support for Moose and thats what its all about. They know hunters will support and pay to have a chance at a Bull. To kill Tweety..Not so much! -

If having 3 come in on ya while you had a flashlight in your mouth and your arms elbow deep in a late day muzzleloader kill i would say yes One showing the snarl and teeth. They did run off into a field until we finished only for us to watch them go back to the pile after we cleared the area. Had a couple corner our little mixed breed dog against the back sliding doors one morning after being let out. When their numbers get high they can get a tad brazen. When a chance comes it is taken. Regardless. -
Crossbow exemptions for those over 60
Four Season Whitetail's replied to Dave's topic in CrossBow Hunting
Its obvious where that..I think it's cruel statement comes from. That party has many times in the past spoke of the hate towards bow hunters and early seasons. -
Deer Poaching Bill Almost Fully Passed !
Four Season Whitetail's replied to dbHunterNY's topic in Deer Hunting
Passing a law that required all deer and tags to be reported would go much further to protect deer. Yes a bigger fine for poaching is great but most never get caught because of lack of DEC officers.- 8 replies

Broadcasting Corn
Four Season Whitetail's replied to t_barb's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
Throw the seed and fert and then drag a piece of fence with a tire on it or something on those lines. After dragging dirt on top of seed then roll it smooth. This is how i have planted in the pens with corn and sunflowers for years. Works Great! -
Ha dont try and tell the couple Yote experts on here that they could have any effect on your deer numbers. That stuff just dont happen!
-
I have some that are on G4's and prob about 120in right now. Oh sorry, Wrong side of the fence but yeah anything pushing brows in May is doing well and pushing beam points in May is above and beyond.
-
Yup thats why i dont play some;s Data game on here. Its a fact that there are a pile of hunters who do not report their kill and surly do not report their kills on the kids and wives tags. Its all a guessing game for them and has been for years. Just like Letchworth were you have to send in your kill results or you dont come back. I am sure some of those numbers are off a bit. But not alot.
-
I would guess most states are the same unless you have to check in deer and return unused tags. All a bunch of guessing. I would like to know if they break it down,in what sections or just one big guess?.
-
What number do you think they pull out of the sky to cover for all the tags filled that never get called in? I know piles of people that never report. They fill their whole families tags and never report. DEC and QDMA can say what they like but when it comes to numbers its a big guess year after year. It also shows many years how screwed up their number is.
