  1. You really want to impress me...Pay for them both and put your name next to his on the website. Heck if i believed in it that much i would have no problem digging for a full page.
  2. It was explained in the write up. Hunters are getting older and buying less so they will tap into the bird watchers pockets. Makes one wonder how many hunters would buy a stamp if they didnt have to? Many bird watchers and collectors buy the stamp for what the money is used for. Not real sure how many hunters would buy if it was not mandatory? Cant say i would.
  3. Some Dove's and a huntable population of Doves are miles apart. Maybe thats why there is not a huge hunter push for a season. Would be like having a Pheasant season without put and take birds. Most hunters would have to travel big time to even find huntable birds.
  4. Well lets see..The Fitch Farms, The DeGolyer Farms The Mcbride Farms,The Everett Farms....Walk acres of every one of them every fall along with our own and the park itself....It would be hard not to notice them if they were there in numbers.
  5. Sorry..Just not here..A stray here and there on the 130 at one end of Letchworth..Never have seen any at camp on the other end of the park or on the park itself. Cant say there is a hunting population there or would want to shoot the few that do show up here and there. I guess a fella could travel to kill a few if there ever did happen to be a season in Ny but not sure many would?
  6. Some would be nice. Did get lucky enough to see 2 a couple weeks ago in a back pen. With the almost 1500 acres i roam the Dove and the Pheasant hold down pretty much the same numbers....And thats because i live a couple miles from a bird hunting outfit and a couple escape every few years and make their way over.
  7. I'm sure the stifle of migration is not a real big deal because there are not enough of them in this state to matter.
  8. Very bad move. This and one of the other bird guys on here that feed untested roadkill and such are taking a huge part in moving this dreaded CWD stuff all across or great herds! We will lose all our deer! We will be more likely to be eating tainted meat! Does nobody remember all the dangers we were warned about in doing stuff as this?
  9. Why bother...They blew the pig population in Ny way out of the water in their move to take some breeds of hogs out of the high fence hunting world. Guess it came as quite a shock to them when some just started cross breeding other types of hogs to make them fair game to hunters once again. If half of what they said was true we would have been seeing them everywhere years ago.
  10. Things that make ya go Hmmmm. Walking away it looks lionish...Long tail and good size..Starts running..Kinda looks house catish?
  11. You have to admit that he does have some truth in those words. Many will do just what he said. Not sure on the lazy part of it but many will give it a shot and give up after they see what is involved. Just as those same gun hunters would not pick up a compound.
  12. I guess there are at least a couple Dove's in Jefferson Cty. Seen a pair today in a back pen. They sat there a bit so i know they were Dove's. Tried to get pic but it didn't turn out.
  13. I will switch back and forth. Early season will not see me with the Xbow but come rut and bucks at times burning on by may see me with it a few times.
  14. Well they forgot a couple per the experts...You will never lower the population and they do not cause any harm to the herd. Ny is messed up in so many areas of laws and conservation..
  15. Are you freakin serious? privacy act? Worried someone is going to make fun of your name? You cant come close to getting me in a huff on something so petty. So if it was a rule change to those rules you would bail because so wacko on a hunting site would use your name for something???
  16. Yup i am on other sites that make you use your name. Push of the button will give Ip address and name. Not to long ago there was a guy on here throwing out name after name on some guys on here, he was not a Mod, Just a member. The ones that are afraid to put their name after a post i believe are the ones that would cause the problems. If someone can write the words they should have no problem owing up to them fully. As far as paying a very small fee would keep the people on here that would make the site great and want to keep it that way.. I dont believe there is one person on this site that could not put up $10.00 bucks a year for the the help to the owner. Those that say they cant? Well??????
  17. DEC will end up being responsible for state land only. The tax paying land owners will take care of their properties as they seem fit. If DEC cant handle the job i am sure the land owner and hunters of those lands can. Even with less hunters.
  18. I dont really think that bothers them in the least. To many deer and they bring in the sharpshooters. Pretty Simple.
  19. Thats a pretty rough hand to be dealt. Makes one wonder why at times. Believing in faith and all. Here are thoughts of strength and peace.
  20. Prob no truth to the talk anyways. Asked for pic's of said hunt and animals...Nothing...Again. We see the trend in the post's.
  21. LOL..Cant argue with that but after so many years of failed moves by them some of us years ago made the choice to make the decisions on their piece of property...Some right, Some wrong but truth is when you have so much of your live vested into something you love and a law made up by clueless politics?? Some have decided to opt out of the mess and do things their way. Sad but true.
