  1. Yes and no.I have seen hard horn and velvet at that time of year
  2. Makes no sense to me,nothing was broke,so what are they trying to fix? I never said they just came up with it this week either,it may have been being thought about for decades but I have never thought that using last years tags was bad for the whitetail herd in NY.
  3. I could only watch till she pulled the hammer out,I am only assuming it went really downhill from there
  4. UMMM if I buy my tags and the rules are set forward for the following year and those tags are already good fr those dates then yes I feel its my right.umm if they make a change then yes I have to follow the rules and will do so.As it states right now I have the right to hunt next September 27th-30th.Therefor if they change the season dates they would have to set a change for 2015.Umm...umm...ummm
  5. False Is Andrew Cuomo the devil?
  6. I can see the problem with trying to combat people using other peoples tags during the early season as that is a problem, but if I buy my tags and save a tag so I can hunt those 4 days thats my right.I put the money down and its my right when and where I want to use them as long as its the right season. If they want to legislate changes then they need to come out and say this is what we want to do and this is why. These jackoffs need to stop back door'ing everything to get what they want.I am for any and all changes as long as they help the herd and deer hunting in NY,but what I dont like the throw shat at the wall and see what sticks approach they have been doing.
  7. Thats what I am saying. The operner for SZ on OCT 1st is to early if you ask me.
  8. I think the same opener as SZ is a stupid move.It was nice getting to hunt a few weeks up north before SZ opened. These changes that they are making or proposing to make dont make any sense to me at all.We already have a long enough season and I can see not starting it 9-1 but I also dont want to loose the time we have now.If they are worried about the amount of deer being killed then they need ease back on the DMP's a bit if you ask me
  9. Why don't you like the "no use of last years tags"?The way everything else works is if you hunt before OCT1st you use the previous years license, that would include tags for bear and deer.I am not sure of the Sept 1st opener,I love being able to go up from the 27th - 31st of september and we have done it for years,it would be a change I don't want to see and also do see a reason for it to change.Did this Hunter ED teacher happen to state a reason they would do this?
  10. I think the 1377/1322 looks like what I am looking for.It would be nice for a break action but from what I have been reading the effort on most is very hard. The only reason I dont like the 1377/1322 is that you have to pump it up and I wanted something hat was deployed quickly because grouse dont give you much of a chance.
  11. This year I found myself wanting a air pistol in the stand with me so when the day is done I could nail a squirrel or grouse.I had a albino squirrel around me all season long and want to get him mounted but haven't seen him since seasons closed.Just wondering if anyone can point me to a nice air pistoll that will be accurate to 25 yards that wont weigh a ton or sounds like a 22 going off....if there is such a thing
  12. Yea no kidding. My whole season only had that # of bucks within range and I hunted at least 60 times from Sept 27th-last day of muzzleloader in the south.Keep at them don't get discouraged.Shoot your bow a few times to get your confidence back before you head out tonight. It makes a world of difference with me.The more confident you feel the more odds in your favor of putting the perfect shot on him.
  13. The ousting of Fuhrer Cuomo!!! At least people are doing something and not sitting on there rumps, and I do believe most people are doing what they can to repeal this turd that was set on fire on or porches in the middle of the night.
  14. If I were here I would in a second.I will pass it on.My family and I will be traveling to PA to purchase some stuff from Cabelas.I am sure I will find some things there that will serve to protest NY
  15. I have narrowed it down to the Barronett big mike blinds.Nice and tall for bow and will do the job hiding her.I have a couple of stake out blinds already as I am a run and gun type of turkey hunter also. http://www.barronettblinds.com/foundations/store/shopdetail.asp?params=BM01BB*0
  16. And dont be afraid to use a shotgun, more times than not they can fly in and be on top of you in seconds
  17. I am with you!!! Merry Christmas everyone!
  18. I will tell you a little secret, most of my deer and turkey hunting properties started out as predator hunting spot.If you find someone who has had a problem with predators and kill a few for them they are really greatfull
  19. I know,every deer I shoot I am smiling like the first time I.....well I smile like a son a beech!!
  20. What can I say...I was bored and I figured it would have had some sort of payoff at the end.It didn't so now I will go out and shoot a fox to get even!!LOL
  21. Very cool!! I have 2 cams I am going to put back out and one still in the woods.
  22. My daughter is able to hunt this year (12 years old) and she really wants to turkey hunt this year.I know with her I will need a blind because she fidgets quite a bit,WHat blind do you guys and gals like.I also think I am going to try and nail one with my bow this year if I like hunting with a blind.I have 200-300 to spend on a blind so say which ones you like
