I own a couple TC Ventures and with a good scope there Accurate. The gun live's up to there MOA Guarantee. I know they did have a recall but what Firearm Manufacturer hasn't had there share of problems. TC stood up took the problem and fixed it. Here is TC venture put to the test. I Have hunted the same Farm since I could hunt. My Family and I always hunted together, and Opening Day & Thanksgiving was a Holiday. After Years gone by Family moved away & dad is to old to hunt like he use to. Its me and my Kids that have replaced them. It use to be all friends & neighbors no need for posted sign we all knew the area well. We were happy to hear each got a nice buck or a kids 1st. We shared more and respected each other. I hunted traditional Bow for years, it was rare to run into another hunter during bow season. The one Farm to the North was owned by a Non hunter, use to count 9-10 deer a morning coming off it, or summer site seeing before dusk the whole Family would drive around counting deer. A family of Brown your down own it now and its rare to see more than 1 come off it, and stopped seeing them in the fields. We use to kill only what we ate and managed the land ourselves not no more. During bow you could let small bucks pass but now your hunting to see the small if you lucky. Than the Amish moved in and Last season showed how hard the deer are being hit. A place that produced many families with enjoyment and Meat slowly disappeared. If we drive 15 mins away to hunt on state land were there are no Amish we see a lot of deer, but the good old days here on the hill are behind us. Many of us travel to hunt now, plus everyone posts heavy now except brown its down to the north. You can see more people than deer here during the season now. I know people say its winter kill or this or that, but the truth is we always have rough winters here but always had plenty of Deer. So I came to except if there not here its not because of Nature. I miss seeing 3yr olds and better and seeing 4 or more shooters a day. Land has not changed the way its hunted has.

I don't like the Remington Ammo, years back had 2 hang fires in the same box of 5 12ga slugs. Missed a nice 9pt because of them at 30yrs by the time I chambered another he was gone. Last week I took out the 30-30 had some Remington Cor-lok ammo my daughter just picked up fro dicks, hang fire right off the bat. I always liked Winchester better. When Hasting 1st made rifle barrels all the craze was sabots, I tried everything to sight it in had high low right left no groups at all. Tried the Remington's and they were the worse. I went down to an old time gunsmith he said have you just tried Winchester 2/4's ? well I loaded up 3 shots later nice groups at 100yrds. Needless to say that's all that gun ever seen. Killed a lot of deer with that gun & not one hang fire or sight in change year to year Winchesters have been the most consistent factory Ammo for me. You would be surprised how many times the gun picks the Ammo so focus on accuracy and not price.

My 3 choices that I like are the flat shooting 270 for range, the 30-06 All around use, and the 30/30 for short shooting. The most important thing with any gun is shot placement and practice. Deer Population control and Deer Management are not the same thing as far as I'm concerned. Do you want Bucks or Does? Do you want Trophy Bucks? Do you want More Doe? Its all has to be Factored in. If they Kill X amount of Doe's That will be taking 2-3 Deer out of Next years Heard. If you want Trophy Bucks Your going to Cull Bucks out Not ALL Doe. What is The DEC Goal ? when they get that straight Let me know. Now If you want dead Deer any size Doe's Than a 270 with a 150gr bullet topped off with good Glass now Your Fixing the Population. How much does venison per lb cost a Hunter. An License in State out state, Gas, Food, Time, Gun or Bow, Hunt Camps TAX's Money into NY economy. Trickle down effect. Does the State really think its a good Idea, to mismanage natural resources too. If hunting was not a labor of love, I'd raise beef. Its getting bigger every year that Traveling to hunt in a better managed State is the way to go.

Let me1st say the Title to this Thread should not read visaline because there not going to make it comfy. I don't know where they are getting there numbers because to go by regions is stupid, In my area deer have been on the decline period, Hunting pressure brown its down thinking, No management practice at all. Its left up to each of us. I've hunted this area since I was a kid and there are just Less deer now, like the 70s. Now I hear it the rough winter Upstate NY winters have always been consistent, but Management has been screwed all to hell. I'd say NO doe kill in my area and 1 tag for buck until it bounces back. Oh and stop the DMAPs because there is no need for them. Over 700 trail cam pic's NOT 1 deer on land that use to hold many, just last year. You can't kill what's not there! DEC or We need to manage our own smaller areas than a whole dam region.

I was working a booth at a Hunting Expo, an Anti came up and said. "If we ban or make hunting harder You'll have no use for your Gun in NY either". So I think the red tape is just that to make people lose interest in hunting or give up. You have to admit they are coming at us from every angle, Anti Hunting & Anti gun Groups. If I was you I go Franchi out of the 3 you listed. Now if you were open to suggestions why not a Mossberg 500 in 12 or 20 with chokes or combo barrels. I own a couple guns and a nice O/U in 20ga with chokes is nice, simple cleaning. Or a Semi but some are touchy when dirty, than the pump guns the 500 has never let me down. The New Winchester SXP is a nice fast gun, what ever one you choose be comfortable with it. I usually don't buy into snake oils or tonics but, my Dr use's this and doesn't take meds. I was at a post op visit when the Dr said I never take meds and is never sick nor has any issues with my hands, its my living. Then told me to try Local Honey and Apple cider Vinegar with mothers (braggs) take it everyday 2 spoons of each. Well I bought it (GNC) and it tastes bad do not drink full strength it burns your throat. I have had some relief from it after 3 weeks, I figured I had nothing to loose and may gain.
