I'm with you Skyhunter this weather really sucks.

Do lots of saltwater fishing. There is nothing like trying to reel in a 15 pound bluefish. What a fight. Would love to see more fishing forums.

Is anyone as fed up as I am. I can't plant my trees or turn over my food plots because it just keeps snowing.

Its not that we haven't figured it out, i'm sure the technology is out there. Its that the oil companys have a strong hold on our government preventing it from happening. If a care got 200 miles to the gallon that would mean less money spent at the pump and less money in the oil companies pockets.

I know where my water comes from, only NYC residents get their water from upstate, not long island residents. Also I don't think everyone upstate is poor just that they don't appreciate what the city people do for their economy. There are businesses up there that look forward to opening day when there stores are full of people and their dinners full of patrons all spending money. I just think there is a double standard when it comes to hunting and hunting regulations between the locals and the out of towners.

Release is the way to go, I have been bowhunting for about 15 years now and a few years ago I went from fingers to release and you wouldn't believe how much tighter my groups are now.

Steve you dont belive in a 2 class system but the reality is it happens everywhere upstate and thats a fact.

I could probably shoot that many deer also if i had a pile of corn in front of my stand also.

I know a local guy that shot 11 deer this season tagged every single one with whatever tag he could find from his wife and sons and this isn't the first year he has done it. How does that happen? I had a conversations with DEC officer that i have gotten friendly with that has told me that he doesn't go after locals only the city guys for fines. Most of the locals are killing that many deer and more and since they use the excuse that they need the meat to feed their families they get a pass. But me the guy that comes from Long Island so much as rubs someone the wrong way gets a fine. The locals need to realize that if it wasn't for the city folk coming upstate and spending money it would be no better than living in a third world country. Just because i am not from around there does't give you the right to treat me like S@#t.

Coyote man do you like the ranger or the 500's better. I am looking to do alot of work around my property with my atv (clear trails, food plots an brush hog). Don't know if the ranger would make it through thick brush.

Dave why not just install an alarm system or just put up signs that say you have an alarm system that should make people think twice about breaking in.

Best way to solve this problem is to get friendly with your neighbors. I live in the Island and my neighbor watches my property like a hawk. My property is on a dead end road and if my neighbor sees anyone, the sheriff gets a call asap (he lives on the same road). Never had a problem with break in but my neighbor has, he chased them off his property with a gun. I think he would do the same for me.

That sounds good Pat but we both know that will never happen. No bucks for 3 years, who will buy hunting licenses. The state needs the money the get from hunting licenses, so anything that restricts them from obtaining it will never happen.

Pat Rockets Darwin's theory of survival of the fittest will take over, I think all those inferior buck will eventually die off and the big boys will take over. Yes Nyantler participation is required by every hunter otherwise it will not work. Trust me I know pleanty of hunters, some I am related to, that shoot the first deer they see. Not good for QDM, those are the guys I try and keep off my land.

I am a young guy I can wait years to reap the rewards later. I want to get my land to the point of where I can take by pick of bucks to shhot.

Looking to purchase a new 550 Polaris Sportsman can anyone give me any input on these ATVs. Good or Bad thanks.
