Here is the million dollar question. Has anyone ever gotten ticketed for this. Does it really matter if you are in your stand before sunrise or after sunset as long as you are not shooting at anything. I have been hunting for 20 years and have never gone and checked sunrise and sunset times. My general rule is i will take a shot 10 mins after i can see and 10 minuets before i cant see anymore.

Coonhunter my property borders farmlands on three sides and a residential area on the fourth. Usually start seeing lots of action late september into october but not this year.

Doc I rig all my cameras with a steel cable and a master lock. so to seal the camera they either have to break the case making it useless or have cable cutters and I don't know many people who walk through the woods with cable cutters.

I'm in edmeston also coonhunter haven't seen anything by me. Just the same few does walking around. Not a buck in sight. Maybe the rut will bring them out.

Otsego county is the way to go. You have major cities like oneonta and cooperstown with hospitals located in both. I would move up there if my wife didn't such a great job here on the island.

Butt out tool is a waste of money. Bought it and tried it. Its useless. Your Knife and fingers can do the same job if you are careful.

I have never fallen out of my stand but they came with the safety vests so i would assume they were tested for falls.

Depends how far you are from your camp. My camp is only 1/2 mile from my stand so i pack lite. I generally carry my knife, a snack and my bleat call along with my license and weapon of course. If i need anything else i can always walk back to camp and get it.

Danny i had a new pond cunstructed this summer and i think it only has a foot of water in it. Not much rain by me.

I have 2 safety vests with the grainger hook ups and they work great.

132 i think these dealers are asking just to cover their asses. They probably have to keep records of all amunition sold for handguns.

Water i think you are right because my friend has a 44 rifle and everytime he goes to buy ammo they ask him if it is for a pistol. He tells them it is for his rifle and he is allowed to purchase it without a permit. I think they want to make sure that people are not buying ammo for illegal firearms.

Back up there again today still no deer in sight. Not sure whats going on this year. When i first bought my land i would see herds of 5 to 10 deer. Now nothing. This all started happening 2 years ago when the amish family moved in next door. Are they exempt from hunting laws. What i am trying to ask is are they allowed to shoot deer year round, because that would explain alot.

I hope you are right Geno. I am surrounded by corn fileds and it hasen't been cut yet so the big boys are probably hanging out in there.

My neighbor keeps telling me there is a bear on his property but i have never seen it. Same here though just see the same doe and fawn.

Some people take this way too seriously. This should be a fun site where we can have friendly discussions about hunting and other things. If people would just relax and not take every comment made as an attack this would be a much better site.

Looks like slim pickins in 4F this year. Been up to my property a few times and havent seen many deer. What are you other 4Fers seeing.
