Wow Gino your right around the corner from me. I am in Edmeston. I dont know if I would trust those Amish built homes. Contractor I used was licensed and build everything to code. I have gotten quotes on the foundation at around $90 to $120 a linear foot for a full basement. Compared to LI prices thats cheap.

Geno what area in upstate are you. I had a contractor build a 24 x 26 garage shell with a loft for 19k. Did all the finish work inside myself. Now i am in the process of building a home thats a little bigger than that garage and i am figuring on spending around 25k to 30k on shell only. Keep in mind these prices do not include foundations.

A cap full of bleach can kill the bacteria in a gallon of water. You can do the math for 55 gallons.

Dave i have apple trees with only a handfull of apples on them and they may not make it to the fall.

If you let one person get away with it then everyone in the area will think its ok to come on your land without permission. My cousin just got robbed they stole 2 quads and 2 rifles. It was the neighbors borther in law. Until that point my cousin was pretty easy going about people using his land when he is not there, but no more. You have to go after trespassers the first time otherwise this could happen to you.

$2000 an acre seems high. Before i bought my property i must have looked at a dozen and i walked them all before i bought one. Paid $1300 an acre then mostly wooded property with lots of marketable timber.

I think when you reach a certain age your mental state of mind should be tested to see if your capable of using a firearm and the same should go for driving. -

Prune apple trees in late feb early march then spray with some type of dormant oil right before they are about to bloom. That will kill most of the insects and fungus. I have been doing that to all my trees since I purchased my property 5 years ago and last year I had tons of apples. -

I have used these, i don't think they speed up the fruiting process but my trees look alot healthier. -
