Thanks everyone! Had an incredible weekend starting with a great dinner and cards with our oldest friends on Friday, a concert and overnight in Ithaca for the wife and I, Hamilton at the Landmark theater yesterday, and finally a St. Joseph's Day celebration with the homemade wine club today. Dan, I went up to Canada 3 or 4 times during the pandemic, had to have a PCR test to GET INTO Canada. Only needed my US Passport to return to USA. Now, with Canada relaxing the testing requirement, it will be much easier. You could get randomly tested at the border, but don’t worry, some of the nurses were pretty cute. Good luck on your hunt!

I picked up a new gun yesterday, special ordered from Savage in Left Hand. I have a RH which will be passed along to a family member. Looking for suggestions on the scope. I am left handed, so my spinning reels all reel on the right hand side of the reel. I kinda like my bait caster, they almost always come with the reel on the right side, which is perfect for me. I spool them up with 17-20 pound test Trilene XT and when I do get a backlash, they are not too bad to pick out. I use that rig mostly for top water bass fishing and use a rubber frog or Pop-r lure. But all in all, I’d rather have my spinning reels 90% of the time.

I will Bill, Georgia is looking more and more likely. The Florida leg was just another thought, not too far out of our way, and I’ll have some of my gear with me anyways. Still researching and planning the rest of the trip at the same time.

I might make a swing down to SE USA on a three week tour, late March to mid April. I have a buddy in Georgia and plan to turkey hunt with him 1 or 2 days. After that I have been looking at maybe a trip down to Florida for a crack at an Osceola. Has anyone ever been down there to turkey hunt? I’d probably hire a guide for a day, but don’t want to really stay with an outfitter in a lodge. (My wife is coming too, so she will just chill all day somewhere) Just a gel of an idea at this point.

Well, I will certainly be careful with shellfish. I am getting older and things change. If I go limp though, I will worry a lot more!
