You will see them growing out between the main stem and the larger branches. Keeping the plant trimmed up a little will keep if from getting too big too. Those tomato cages will only hold so much. The sucker shoots will make fruit, but it diminishes the overall size of the other tomatoes. On a large scale, like on a farm, it is good to remove so that you get larger tomatoes, although maybe fewer of them and a higher price. Here’s a good primer. https://www.thespruce.com/should-you-prune-out-tomato-suckers-1403290

I love Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner!

We always do on our farm so I say yes, take the time to do it.

I am sure they will suggest a good blend rather than a single variety to provide resistance to disease and adaptability to all types of soil conditions. We used to sell a lot of 20% annual rye (germinates quick and provides cover for other seed), 30% Perennial Rye, 25% Kentucky Blue, and 25% Red Fescue (does well in sun or shade). We called it State Fair mix. I just bought a bag at a local farmers co-op very close to that mix and it was $110 for 50#.

Beautiful mount, looks very well done. I have a hen and a drake mounted together on the same piece of wood. My Brittany decided to retrieve them out of the living room for me, so they are not in tip top shape.

maybe it was Newfoundland? He's gone now so I can't ask him....

While I was in Tennessee last week I stopped in a bow shop just to see what was there and chat a bit with some locals. They told me they have a special “Velvet Weekend” in August when you can shoot a buck still in velvet. My recently passed away friend had a caribou he shot in Nova Scotia that had its velvet still on, it was a really cool mount.

We leased to a farmer like that for several years. Finally go tired of it and found another farmer that keeps the fields in great shape. Do some research on rental/acre in your area. $20 is way more than you have been getting, but it might be a lot less than the going rate. We rented for $35 an acre for many years, but then another farmer offered $100 per acre. I asked the current farmer if he would match the offer and he did it without hesitation. Of course, if he is plowing up your plot and other work, then there is some discount expected. -
Wrap in damp paper towels and keep in fridge. Good for 3 or 4 days.

Happy Birthday Culver Creek!

Squash and cukes will flower too. The squash flowers are edible and very very tasty!

Happy Birthday, hope you have some good fishing!

No worries, Otto is not my real name anyways. Fathers Dad gets dibs on first born, so Oliver’s middle name is Peter after his Granddad. We will see if I get a namesake child in my life. One can hope!

Just pluck off a few leaves whenever you need some. Pinch off any flowers forming at the top too, encourages leaf growth.

Happy Birthday Rob! Tight lines to you always
