Mine is not based on cell service. It just connects between the handheld unit and the collar. I think the range is up to a mile. Probably on the plains of South Dakota! But my dog has only been off the grid a couple of times. Otherwise it works really well. Re the “table” for whoa training. I have seen a 50 gallon oil barrel with a piece of carpet glued to the top of the barrel laying on its side. You put the dog up there and he has to balance himself to stay in one spot, all while you are laying hands on him and calling whoa. Another version of the whoa training, I think I read about it in Ben Williams book Gun Dog.

I have the Garmin GPS collar, maybe the second version that they came out with. It worked well for me, my dog had “long legs” and liked to range out a bit sometimes. Solid brand and I am sure the combo unit would be a good choice. I had a Tri Tronics e-collar and had some issues with it, so I sold that and got a Dogtra, which has been rock solid for 10+ years. It just quit working a couple of months ago, but I’ll bet I could get it going again if I went through the reboot, etc. But at 13+ years old, my dog is now retired, so I really don’t need it.

A friend of mine is bringing his twin grandsons to hunt at my property tomorrow. It would be awesome to see them both tag a Tom!
-
I’ve got “too much” too, but every time I go to trim it down some, I can’t seem to part with any of it. I need a grandson to give it all to. When my brother saw all my fishing poles at camp, he laughed and could not figure out why I had so many. I didn’t want to tell him that was only about half of my collection!

I don’t see any problems at all!

I used green slime in two of my wheelbarrows last summer and have not had a flat since then.

My condolences to you and your family. A facemask and few other things to do are not a lot to ask of anyone. -
I drove by the State DEC launch on Skaneatelas Lake 2 days ago and it was open with several trucks and empty trailers in the parking lot.

That's really an eyesore! -
I like that cold frame thing you got. You could put your plants in pretty early and not worry about frosts. Take it down during the warm season, and put it back up in the fall and extend your season again. But if you think it is an eyesore, then it does not matter. Personally, I would wait another week. it was 27 degrees this am with 2 inches of snow on the ground. OK for peas, but tomatoes would be toast. The plant is growing in the container just as it is in the ground. Waiting a week will not delay your crop much at all. On the other hand, plants are pretty cheap, if you lose them unexpectedly, it is easy and not too expensive to replace. Again, up to you.

Beans, Corn,, squash and cukes are easily started right in the ground. Wait until soil is at least 55 degrees and plant away. No need for started plants, they grow fast!

That is exactly how it works in the hotel business! -
Ok, I am ok with that. I buy 15 yards and spread it out myself.

Oh oh,,,what’s up with mulch? I was going to order some next week!
-
No onion smell. Either that or I have Corona and have lost my sense of smell!!!
-
Flesh, yes in Camillus. See your Messages. Yes, I agree, they are a bit early. This past week and next week put the skids on an “early spring”.

Anyone know if these are wild onions? No onion smell. Leaves look flat, not tubular like on a scallion. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

We will launch at midnight to avoid the crowds and surprise the walleye.....

Yes I do! 15 minutes from the 81 bridge over Oneida. And I got some intel on "private" launches somewhere up Chittenango Creek.......

Rob, cool. Yes, that issue is all taken care of by a very accomplished surgeon. My first colposcopy I was given propofol, which is one of the drugs Micheal Jackson OD’d on. They told me to count backwards from 100, I was out before I hit 98. Woke up 20 minutes later staring at a pretty nurse telling me that I would be quite gassy and it was important to just let it all out. It was almost surreal!
-
Rob, glad to hear the physical was all or mostly good. Sorry, for preaching to you. It is your decision, no question. I have had 4 colonoscopy and a major surgery on my large intestine. It was not fun, but I got through it. I would hate for anyone to ignore a health issue, or worse, be totally unaware of a health issue that would be a difficult and severe problem to solve later on.
-
Rob, at nearly 50 it is time to have an full annual physical with blood work and yes, a colonoscopy , and yes a prostate exam too. Too many things left unchecked can be found out way too late. If you are concerned about being there with sick people, let the office know and maybe they can accommodate you in some way. IDK. But I would not just say I feel fine, and I’ll see you when I am sick. It may be too late.
