Damn thing looks like something Buck Rogers would use to hunt Lunar Elk.... At least the silly thing has some WOOD on it, albeit laminate... -
I heard that TF is second cousin to John C. Holmes...He can drive with NO hands...

TF can sit in the club cab with the beer cooler....Wait a minute.. TF can drive and I'LL sit in the club cab with the beer cooler..Hehehe..

Holy crap, Dom.....I don't care if I do live 4 or 5 hours away...I am on my way and I will pick up Bionic enroute....
-
Don't get me wrong, Dave, moose is good....I just don't think it is as flavorful as some other venisons...It is mild..To me it is the closest to beef of any game meat I have eaten, which I believe is one reason why it is pretty much universally well liked..

That reminds me of my Old Fat father's cure for hiccups...Stick one finger in your mouth and the other one up your a**... If that doesn't work, change fingers... -

Now that is as close to a PURTY AR as I have ever seen... I always liked the looks of some of the FN/FALS such as the L1A1....They are about the most modern military rifle that appeals to me, although M14 is not bad either, due to its resemblance to the M1 Garand... -

What's the most redneck thing you've ever built....

I am planning to make a deer blind out of an outhouse... It will serve double duty..You don't have to walk out in the bushes and drop your knickers in the cold when nature calls... I'll make it a "two- holer" in case I want to hunt with a friend... -
I hope this is not too racy, but I must quote an old friend of mine ( now departed) who was a MASTER of the art of understatement... " I don't what it is, but there is something about a nice, juicy vagina that really turns me on "......

Do you upgrade your gear or find what works and stick with it
Pygmy replied to rob-c's topic in General Chit Chat
I wear my clothes and boots until they wear out...None of my camo matches...I am not exactly a fashion plate in the woods... I use my fishing rods until they break and my reels until they quit working...Most of my lures are jigs of some description, either hair jigs I tie myself or jigheads ( which I cast myself) with some kind of plastic.. I have a shoebox full of quality knives, Bucks, Case, Puma...Nearly all of them were given to me as gifts.. I used to drive my vehicles until they dropped..The last truck I bought new had the bed held together with ratchet straps when I sold it..The last few years I have been leasing... I have bought a couple of the ultra realistic expensive turkey decoys..I think they are far superior to the crude older ones.. My weakness is firearms...Sometimes I fondle a quality firearm, usually an older classic model model, and I just HAVE to have it.. I have a real weakness for Winchester Model 12s and Browning A5s.. That said, my primary guns for nearly every type of hunting are all guns that I have had and used for many years.. I tend to stick with the same handloads too...I do enjoy enjoy the process of working up loads for my rifles, but once I find a bullet/powder combo that gives good hunting accuracy and performs well on game, I stick with it.. My Old Fat Father used to tell me " If it ain't BROKE, don't fix it "... -
Did you forget this morning it’s an hour later ?
Pygmy replied to turkeyfeathers's topic in General Chit Chat
I forgot until The Mermaid asked me to set the time ahead on the stove and microwave... The good news is that "Sunday School" at the Legion is one hour closer than I thought it was... -
Reminds me of a story....I have always had a pickup truck except for a couple of brief periods in my misspent youth , during which times It seems I was always BORROWING one from family or friends... One time my sister borrowed my truck for some forgotten reason...She left me with her car, which was some sportscar type of two seater Jap job that looked kinda like a 2/3 size Corvette... I think it was a Toyota....It was bow season, and as luck would have it, I killed a buck that evening...There was no way I could bring it home in her rice rocket without messing the car up, so I stopped at a friend's house and asked for assistance...We drove down into the field ( which belonged to another friend), threw the buck in the back of his truck and took it home and hung it up...I made sure my friend got some venison for his assistance.....The only other time I ever remember killing a deer and did not have a truck I was driving my 1983 Buick Regal ( can't remember why) and there plenty of room for the PA 4 pt bow buck in the trunk..

I have killed deer with a .222 Rem.... It was the only centerfire rifle I owned at the time.. If a ..223 was all I had, I would hunt deer with it, considering its limitations... However, there are many better choices for deer, and quite a few of them are not heavy kickers, either... -
True, Jerry, but sad....I much prefer them fully feathered....Not that it really matters to me anymore....<<sigh>>.....

I killed 13 caribou and they are buy far my favorite big game, but they have all been fat pre-rut animals taken in late August or early September.. I have heard that rutting caribou are inedible..Even dogs won't eat it.. Moose , to me, is bland....Tastes like whatever you cook it with...
-
I'm a little off my game this morning....Just read it...Hehehe....
-
Fish....Bluegill filets dusted in flour and sautéed in butter... Fowl....Teal roasted medium to medium rare... small critters...Frog legs dusted in flour and sautéed in butter... Bigger critters...Caribou backstrap roasted medium rare on a stick over an open fire in camp... honorable mention...whitetail liver sliced 1/2 inch thick and fried in bacon fat with lots of onions....

What kinda stuff you talkin' bout, Jerry ??.....<<grin>>...

I must admit to being a little prejudiced toward Dwight because I CAN'T STAND to watch him perform.. I will say, though, that he gave an excellent performance as Doyle Hargrave, the bullying boyfriend in the film Sling Blade..
-
I have asked to have Willie's version of " Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain " played at my funeral... He sometimes takes some liberties with the tunes, but his guitar work is amazing..

Oh yeah, and include ANYTHING sung by Kris Kristofferson....Kris is a great songwriter, but he can't sing for beans...Hehehe..
