  1. Try listening to the New York City accent that I am sure many of our posters speak... Example ....It was Friday and a bunch of us were in our compartment changing into our civvies getting ready for Liberty.. One fellow, a black radioman said " I'm goin' out and find me a HO ! " Another radioman, whos was from Long Island said...." A HOE is what you use in the GAH-den" He looked at me and said " He meant a hoo-ah" and laughed.....Hehehe..
  2. I would love to hear the details also...When I was fishing for halibut in Alaska we were using 12/0 to 16/0 circle hooks for fish ( mostly 30 to 100 lb.) that had smaller mouths than those bluefins...
  3. Tommy...I think Wooly was kidding....
  4. I have 2 Burris scopes, a Fullfield 2x7 on my 7MM08 Mountain rifle and a 4X compact on my Ruger 10/22...Both have been excellent scopes. I would not hesitate to buy another one ( or two) if I needed them...Currently though, I have more scopes than I have rifles to put them on...
  5. Damn pansy ass kids......Hehehehe....
  6. I am sipping some Jameson's chased with Bud Lite, watching The Mermaid and my sister Linda floating around in the pool...It is 82 degrees here...Hehehe....
  7. Thanks, Nick, but she looks kinda YOUNG for me.......
  8. As I type this my lovely sister is preparing my Irish Coffee....<<SMILE>>....
  9. Lawdwaz hit the nail on the head...The Mermaid and I are at my sister's place in Florida for a few days... This is the one day that I am a LEPRECHAUN, rather than a pygmy..Hehehe.. Thank you all for remembering me on my birthday !
  10. Yeah...That's when I learn very quickly that I was a LOVER, not a WARRIOR......Hehehe...
  11. One of my favorites is " Foreigners Around the World" by P.J. O' Rourke, originally published in "National Lampoon" in the mid 70s...Hehehehe....A masterpiece of ethnic political INcorrectness....Hehehe.... Check it out...
  12. Speaking of BIG holes, when Moog comes down this spring I can introduce him to a few of our " Steuben County Virgins"...
  13. I am not too sure that the 458 socom would be adequate for the " Tryrannasquirrels" that we have down here along the Pennsyltucky border.... They have much bigger NUTS than normal, everyday sissy squirrels...
  14. Where's BUBBA when you need him ??...Hehehe...

    Bullhead

I love bullheads out of cold water....My Mom would KILL for a good mess of bullheads !! Sorry I can't help you as far as times/places in your area, but as far as bait goes, I have never used anything tht works much better than nightcrawlers.. Fish a two hook rig with a bell sinker on the end of the line and 2 hooks on droppers each baited with 1/2 a crawler....I use cheap snelled hooks as droppers and if a fish swallows the bait, I just cut off the hook and loop on another one.. Many other baits work well too..I have heard that leeches are a killer bait, but have never had the opportunity to use them..
  16. Quote from W.C. Fields...." Anyone who hates dogs and children can't be ALL bad..".......Hehehe....
  17. I had a Rem 11-48 in 28 gauge years ago...Nice little shotgun..Had a vent rib and a Cutts Compensator...The fellow who owned before me was a short fellow, ( even shorter than me, Hehehe) and he had shortened the stock to fit him, making it a little too short for even for this old white boy... I could have fixed the stock , but a friend offered me some $$$ for it and I sold it...One of many guns I probably should have held on to..( SIGH)...
  18. I just checked Able and Cheaper than dirt and they are both out of stock at this time...
  19. Brenneke loads them and Cheaper Than Dirt offers them online...They probably won't ship them to you due to the unsafe act, but you could have them shipped to a dealer..Good luck, My Friend...
  20. 28 Gauge slugs have not been loaded in this country for many years...I think that they are still available from some European manufacturers.. I have a few Remington paper 28 gauge slugs in my collection that were probably loaded in the 1950s, but they are the only domestically loaded ones I have ever seen..
  21. I have shot at LOTS of running deer....When I began deer hunting I was a fairly good wing shot, so I tended to lead running deer the same as I would lead a flying bird...I missed a BUNCH of them... Then I began to aim where I wanted to hit and my hit percentage went UP....I think I was shooting IN FRONT of those deer... I no longer hunt under conditions where I need to take running shots, but if I did I would hold the crosshairs where I wanted the bullet to hit..
  22. AAAUUUUUUGH !!! I give up....Take it away......I want my MOMMY !!!
  23. I noticed that you covered your ass with #4, Bugsy....Good move !
