Not long ago, I talked to a young fellow who was driving a big beer truck...Someone asked him if it was automatic or standard...He replied that it was auto, and he did not know how to operate a standard tranny... Came as a bit of a shock to me, being an old fart...I took my road test in 1966 in my Dad's 1953 Ford F-100 , three speed on the tree... How many of you pilgrims can run a standard tranny ?? I haven't run one in many years, but I still could run one in my sleep....

She's gotta be closer to 80.....My buddy, her husband has said it is his goal to live to be 100..If I were married to her I would have shot myself years ago...

I had one very similar to that and used it for years...It is probably still in a drawer up in my ex-wife's house somewhere...

Mine are boring, compared to many named above...Only named two....The World's Greatest Treestand, which I hunted for many years on my Dad's property that grew up on..... The other one is my current tower stand, " Tower Three".....It is named that because it was the third tower stand that a friend of mine built, although tower one and tower two are on a different property..He has since built tower four and tower five on two other properties..

Tacks...I see you have the 209 primer conversion on your Hawken.... I got one for mine a couple of years ago...A little slow to reload, and a chance of dropping it in the snow, but for sure sure your rifle will go BOOM when you trip the trigger... My ex wife bought me my Hawken for my birthday in 1975 ( when you were four years old) and it has has accounted for all of my MZ deer ( perhaps 15-20) including my best ever buck, EXCEPT for the two does that I shot with Moog's beautiful TC inline a couple of years ago...

Nothing this afternoon.. Have not seen a deer since I shot the buck a week ago Thursday.. I may get out with the smokepole a couple of days later in the week.... Still, I spent more hours in the stand than ever before...Very thereouputic (SP) considering the shit going on...

Gonna do one last sit this afternoon...After seeing deer on a daily basis the first half of the season, I haven't seen one in over a week...Luck all !!....

My hunter this afternoon ( an old friend of many hunting trips who suffered a stroke recently) canceled out on this afternoon's hunt because he was not feeling well... Tomorrow Marvin ( after whom one of my pet spikes is named) is hunting with me....Hopefully Marvin the buck will come out and Marvin can shoot himself...Hehehehe...

Things seemed about normal down here in Dogpatch...A local deercutter had a record bow season and several days into the middle of opening week, several local cutters were turning away deer because they had more than they could handle... Somebody's killing them...

I wouldn't want to be anywhere near Damascus Syria, or anywhere else in the Middle east, anytime !! I'd rather stick needles in my eyeballs........

Third sit in a row from my tower seeing nada, except some turkeys.......Maybe the deer don't like my wheat anymore.... Hunting tomorrow afternoon from the ground with a handicapped friend who cannot climb the stairs to the tower...We'll be hunting the far end of the plot which I cannot see from my tower, from the ground...Hope something comes out..He hasn't had a chance to hunt much this year and would be pleased to shoot even a fawn.... H

My dance card is filling up...I have three guys scheduled for the next three afternoons in my tower, and then another one Saturday.... That said, yesterday afternoon was the first PM sit I have had in my tower and NOT seen a deer....Hopefully they will co-operate...The guy who is hunting with me Thursday is a parapeligic, and the guy hunting Saturday has health issues and does not drive, so I will be driving about 20 miles RT to pick each one of them up and take them home...They are the ones I really hope to get a deer.....Either one would be be tickled to get a small buck or a doe...
