School board election in the school I work has an 18 year old candidate (graduating senior whom is going to Yale in the fall) on the ballot. They put him up against a very strong candidate unfortunately...they should both be elected but they are head to head for one spot and two Other weak candidates are head to head for the other opening. Congratulations ....what area? Lots of openings out there due to Covid. I gladly chat with her if she’s thinking about the Westchester area. As an aside, Broadway Joe’s may serve the best “by the slice” pizza out there....as a full pie, not so much-weird! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yup...GREAT facility for the whole family if you have more kids...pool, fishing pond, archery range, large trampoline park, courts for all sports. We (3 coaches) stayed in the barracks on two separate occasions with the entire team. Went to Rehoboth beach with the entire team for dinner and some beach time during an “off day”....good spot. Helped that we won the tourney each time we were there!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I’m anti masks and suspicious of vaccine!!! But use a mask daily and have gotten the shot for me and my kids after my consultation with doctors and my family. If masks allow you to meet your customer isn’t that better than just over the zoom/phone? It has been for me teaching - better than all virtual but not ideal and yet we have been teaching in person full classes since September Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I also wonder how many people who are truly anti-mask anti-vaccine have the ability to avoid contact with many people each day. I know a bunch of people who are now working from home and are I n contact with those in which they choose to contact. Small business owners open their doors to everyone who walks through the door so their number of contact is increased and as stated earlier, people are gross-regardless of COVID. I forgot my mask hitting a Hanniford last night - my buddy was driving his car. I went in anyway and pulled up my shirt when I was near someone. Needed help finding things and the woman said “oh stop that - you are fine. I just have to wear mine since the boss is here and she is scared we will get caught!” Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What’s causing half my tree to die? I know it’s tough to see it with the background trees but the main branches to the left are totally dead and an off shoot to the right is dead too. Any tree guys (@TreeGuy ) out there with knowledge if this can be saved Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Why I butcher my own venison! Co-worker brought me some venison knowing that I lost my freezer-full earlier this spring. The bottom plate was what was left after I tried to eat it. Crosscutting the hind leg is not a good idea in my humble opinion. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

More importantly, how we getting Little Cory back in the groove. It sounds like you have done right by this team already by stepping up when no one else did. It also sounds like you are rational and not putting your kid in a position where he cannot be successful (or as successful as others perceive he should be) and that’s right both for your team and the more importantly your kid. The transition from coach-pitch to kid-pitch is a big jump for hitters because the likelihood of him getting plunked is greater and the fear creeps in. Helping him to realize that it doesn’t hurt as much as he thinks it will was a big step. Teaching him how to “take” a ball (turn away, bring the bat down) and feeling a few balls actually hit him may help. I am not suggesting to ear-hole the kid. But during BP/soft toss, I used to plunk my boys every once and a while-don’t call CPS YET! They were underhand, to the butt or legs. I also had a kid who lived to “step out” on his load. We did this....toes on the inside of the batters box, 4’ long 2x4 behind his heels - every time he stepped on it he knew he was stepping out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My boy played on a travel baseball team last year at The Rock up in Chester, NY. One of his teammate’s mom is a rescue helicopter pilot and gave us a fly-over out of Stewart ...was cool as hell Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Not sure about blackeadio but Last year i stopped by a local garden market one day after I found a bunch of hen of the woods and just asked one of the guys I know if he was interested. He was but just receive his normal delivery and didn’t think they would sell all of mine and his normal delivery. My guess is if you know of a regularly producing spot, spot by some local “farm to table” type restaurants and ask to talk to the chef...they will snatch them up Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Been a crazy spring already but my kids varsity team is off to a great start. My kid is batting .389 with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts. A little rough start at the plate as he didn’t do any hitting work this winter and focused on pitching. Seems like he’s getting his batters eye back now...3-3 yesterday and 2-3 today. His first varsity pitching experience was a good test. 4 innings in relief as they trailed by 1. Gave up 8 hits through the 4 innings (1 extra inning) but never gave up a any earned runs. They won 4-2. Some high stress scenarios and he just kept peppering the strike zone. Certainly didn’t overpower anyone but showed some balls and heart Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

No insult implied!!! I used to love playing tourneys out at Randall’s Island - all of a sudden our “big fish” from the travel teams would really see what’s out there. Blaring Spanish music from cars, no $400+ bats, sharing gloves and gear....one team had a large tire on a metal pole that they boys used pregame to warm up - 5 swings each and if you didn’t make it rotate the pole you were mercilessly teased! One kid “got undressed” by his coach for not running on to the field- pulled him off and made him turn in his hat and leave. Parent were PISSED...at the kid and apologized to the coach. That’s what really out there for our kiddy I compete against. Good to see yours holding his own!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
