The wind is just steady enough to shake some stubborn dry leaves in the trees; plus all the chickadees organizing themselves for the impending snow has me twitchier than Henry Hill trying to get Lois off to the airport as his brother stirs the sauce. 3S bow only-37 with 10 mph from the NW. let’s see if a doe and her fawns will circle back or if a local 10 or 8 is looking for a “last dance” Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

So I’m following the orange bottle directions http://blog.flemingtraps.com/2013/12/05/trappers-hide-tanning-instructions/ Did some more scraping and my first batch of salt (Step 2). I folded and rolled the hide and put in the garage..came back 20 minutes later to find some serious “leakage”. I tied some rope around it and it is now resting over a bucket for 24 hours. It was your post that put me on the orange bottle so thank you. I like the holes roo Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
My buddy shot a 5 pointer yesterday and continually commented about how much he likes his coat so I am going to see what I can do about doing a fur-on wall display and euro the head as a thank you for being so generous with his land, toys, etc.. I purchased the “orange bottle” stuff and started to scrape the hide after picking some meat from the skull today. I’ll try to keep up with pics and if anyone sees any pitfalls or has any suggestions before I really dig in, please let me know. That’s my scraping pole...it’s buried about 2’ in the ground. The crate helps keep the good angle Clearly I already F’ed the tail but oh well. Tiny entrance hole and exit holes Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Agreed. The softer texture is also a value add in my book. And for the record Biz-R-OWorld we had chicken parm too for the boys. It was good but not as good as the eggplant. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I was out for the last hour in 3S and had quite an eventful sit. Bumped the mama and 2 fawns on my quick walk in which I expected. Last time I was there mama was off making more babies as her fawns were alone. These three are such homebodies that I intentionally pushed them towards a neighboring house, hoping they would circle back when they ran out of room. I then went back a found a tree over their beds. With 10 minutes of legal left a red fox came through and then I see a doe flying down the mountain followed by another doe. Not sure what kicked them. Both stayed in the ravine and never came up my way. The three I kicked did indeed circle back but well “high” of my tree and were happily feeding in a field behind a work shed (75 yards from my car!) when I walked out. Good to see some action Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Chef is too busy scouring the web for borderline inappropriate memes for the Today’s chuckle thread. Like many ballots in this years presidential election, if you did not sign up correctly or were late to the party you are automatically added to Team 1...Welcome aboard! As you are aware, Biz, who ultimately was guaranteed to contribute 20 points to Team 1 for the 8 & 10 point bucks that are penned on his private access land, “somehow” contracted the Rona after a trip to WNY with “The Academy” clan. (Do you know he has never been sick a day in his life?) A formal collusion investigation is underway with the potential disqualification of Team 4 as a result of their close ties to the Academy members. It’s a sad day that Team 4 would stoop to such levels. THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE AN EXHIBITION! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
