  1. The best thing that happened to my kid and his development of his passion for baseball was having a bunch of his school friends be good multisport athletes and pick baseball in the spring. His first travel team (8u) was run by a super motivated father, another guy who was the uncle of a player and me. The three of us LOVED being at the field as much as the boys so the reps our team had were infinitely more compared to other programs at that age. We stayed together through the boys 13u season with a core group of players and “stole” some kids from other programs because we were always offering more chances for the kids to practice, hit or play. At 14u kid’s started to spread out. He still has 4 kids on his team now that were on the original 8u team which is a huge number in a lax crazy town. Keep it fun, avoid the hype, find good kids at his school who play baseball and bring them to a program that is organized as a package. Last thing…be a multisport athlete. The burnout and physical toll on arms in particular is real in baseball. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  3. Ok, ok….you convinced me! I’ll kill does!!!! I put three deer in the freezer through this season and will “survive” with that number. I think 4 is my sweet spot with 5 allowing me to play with bunches of different preparations. 4 deer breakdown: 2 into ground…we love taco Tuesday and chili on Sunday, empanadas, meatloaf… 1 deer of snack sticks 4 corned venison’s from football roasts Numerous cheesesteaks (8 hind roasts) 2 massive piles Osso Bucca All them backstraps Deer 5 would be to try a whole front shoulder roast, may give a hind quarter to Smokehaus to make a prosciutto, and more “random sausages” Bring on 10/1!!!!! 9. Damnit Biz- now I got four PM’s from people wanting me to move them! The biz buck snack stix, High Life’s, pizza, the opportunity to drive your truck(soft tape on the dash just in case I noticed), having one boy take his first highway trip with his license through a monsoon, and your overly generous thank you (the shooter of Tito’s slipped in a hoodie was a nice touch!) made the experience more enjoyable than it was work for the boys. What a great house and even a greater family you have there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  21. Just started some seeds last week. Tomatoes- sweet 100, beefsteak, purple Jalapeño and basil Cucumber(2 types), zucchini squash(green and yellow) beans and some other herbs to be planted directly in the ground later. I’m also going to try and reseed my very neglected lawn but I’ll save that for the Biz lawn thread if he’s still here after his move Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  23. Anyone still feeling odd effects from their bout with Covid? I put on a few extra pounds since the hunting season ended and decided it’s time to get back on track. Mind you, I have never been a runner but could/would jog 2 miles with relative ease even when out of shape. Yesterday I did some outdoor chores and found myself really struggling to catch a good breath after carrying some paver stones from back to the front of my yard (100’). I chalked it up to being out of shape and decided today would start the process. Felt fine as I started but quickly felt like I couldn’t get a full breath. Walked for a bit and started my slow jog to only have the same thing happen. After my two miles of interrupted jog/walk, I went home disgusted. It was my wife who Mentioned “long Covid” as I never heard or payed attention to that. Still seems like a handy excuse for me just being a FATASS!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. 1000% agree on Arthur Ave but it needs to be a early afternoons, hit the clam bars, and all the shops and have Tacks bring the Blackstone to whip up a feast in the park. We really just need to Boil water for the Borgatti ravioli. The rest is cheeses, breads, olives and dried sausage. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
