Taking my baseball kid to visit with and hopefully lock up Hobart on 10/15-16. I am not sure of the schedule yet but I'm bringing all my bow gear (and flyishjng gear if that's an option). I'm hoping I can drop him at the school on Saturday around noon, they I can hunt or fish the pm and possibly the am and then meet with the coaches on Sunday afternoon prior to taking him home. So one little detail...what are my options for hunting or fishing out there? While I don't expect you to give up your honeyholes, it would be greatly appreciated if you did! My two cents: If he is hoping to pitch, help him develop consistency of delivery and mechanics and throw strikes. Don't teach a curveball until he consistently can throw 2 seem and 4 seem fastball and a change up for strikes. Proper warm up and stretch and postgame ice and maintenance is important too. Besides the traditional curveball not being great for his arm (especially since they don't typically throw it right), young kids rely on it too much cause it's sexy! All the while they are not developing control of fastball and change up. The older he gets, the curveball is not nearly as effective as locating fastballs and following it with a change and an occasional hook Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
