I bought one for myself and one for my daughter last fall. It's a nice call, sounds great, and I like the slide on the side of the call to adjust the tone. So much nicer (and quicker) than having to pull the call apart to adjust the O-ring inside, like many other calls that I've had. The extinguisher never froze up on me either (as advertised). They sure seem to work well on that show on the Pursuit Channel anyways! LOL I saw this guy at ~100 yards away. He was heading into a thicket with no intentions of coming towards me. I grunted once and he raised his head and looked in my direction. I grunted once more and he came in galloping straight to me!

Very cool! That buck caused some destruction! LOL I love scrape videos! Once the scrapes start popping up, pretty much all my cams get moved to the most active scrapes!

I use my Dad's .300 Win Mag, as it was his baby. I know it would put a smile on his face to know that it was still getting out for some exercise and knocking deer down. Do I need a .300 Mag, no... but I do like the short blood trails and memories of my Dad hunting with it every fall. To avoid wasting any meat, I just don't tuck the shot too tight behind the shoulder. The deer still react like they've been hit by a bolt of lightening!

So how was PA?? Talked to a couple of people that hunted northern PA and they saw lots of deer and tagged a couple of nice bucks. One guy that hunted southern PA didn't see any deer and another saw a few tails while still hunting. The guy (cousin) that didn't see anything owns the property that I use to hunt ~12 years ago. Back when I hunted it, if I didn't see 50 deer on opening day, something was seriously wrong! For the past several years, my cousin seldom even see's deer, let alone puts one in the freezer! It's unbelievable to me how different things are now down in my old stomping grounds! That's where I grew up and cut my teeth on hunting.

I must admit, I'm more of a bleached-white-skull-type-European-mount-kind-of-guy myself, but did find this method kind of cool. DIY camo dipping. Might have to try this sometime...

I use to hunt opening week of PA for ~20 years. I stopped ~10 years ago. I do miss it and still think of the excitement that I use to feel during Thanksgiving weekend. Good luck and be safe! Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
