Had this coyote come by me this morning. He was headed in the opposite direction, so I lip squeaked to see if he would come back. Within seconds, I saw him bounding back! He kept stopping to look and listen, then would come a few yards closer. He was on a trail coming at me head on and I was concerned that he would bust me, so I took him through the chest. He was 25 yards away. He went about 8 yards and collapsed! First blood with the crossbow! The bolt went through him and you can see the end of it sticking out his hind quarter.

While pulling in the lane this morning, a nice buck was chasing a doe around my clover plot. I watched them for what seemed like 2 min. They were only 50 yards from me! Actually felt bad for the doe! Every time she looked at my car it was like she was thinking, "Can ya help me out here?" LOL I'm hunting in a stand 75 yards from where this all happened. Its right next to a bedding area. Thought it was going to be an exciting morning, but I haven't heard or seen a deer yet! Did see a coyote earlier. Lip squeeked it in. Its now piled up 30 yards away!! Sent from my VS980 4G

Rain stopped here before I left the cabin. Happy about that! Saw a doe and 2 fawns 80 yards away. Feels like it should be a great morning.... If I only had a nickel for every time I've said that and still went home empty handed! Sent from my VS980 4G

Great buck! Congrats to you both!

With practically the whole state opened up to bear hunting now, I would want something plenty big enough for bear also, incase the opportunity presented itself.

Damn!! They were really going at it!! LOL Cool footage!

Started going through some trailcam pics and videos from last year and comparing. I'm wondering if this is him in a video from last year (10/27/13)? Same ribcage type profile to his rack and has a sticker point (not common in my area) coming off his drivers side G2. If so, he showed up about the same time last year and hung out for 2-3 weeks. http://vid216.photobucket.com/albums/cc54/CabinFeverBob/Scrape%20Vid%2010-27-13_zpsrqgnbsde.mp4

'Tis the season to start seeing new bucks passing through the area. Got pics of the first mature buck of the season! Always an exciting time! Posed nice for me too! Was even kind enough to pass by 2 different cams!
