If you're pressed for time and don't feel like making your own, Dicks in Webster has a 3pk of HSS Lifelines for $69.97. Right now, if you buy anything from there, there is a survey on the receipt. If you fill it out online, you get a $10 off a $50+ purchase. So, go in buy a soda, get the receipt, fill out the survey, and get your $10 off coupon to use towards your Lifelines. If you get the 3pk for $69.97, after the $10 coupon, you'll get them for $20/each.

Just finished washing camo and blaze orange yesterday. I have 3 hunters (son, daughter, and myself) worth of clothes to wash, plus all spare/back-up clothes, so I kept the washer busy yesterday!!

Done with Ameristep Blinds.
Cabin Fever replied to sits in trees's topic in Hunting Gear Reviews and Gear Discussions
I have an Ameristep Dog House blind. I bought it ~10 years ago, on clearance for $15 after hunting season. I'm certainly not saying they are the best blinds, but I set it up and use it every year for spring turkey, then again before bow season and keep it up until the end of gun season. I had the rods break on me, but it was my own fault, due to heavy snow accumulation collapsing the blind. Nothing that some duct tape couldn't fix though! I've certainly gotten my money's worth out of it! -
My 12 yr old Daughters 1st Buck all finished
Cabin Fever replied to SahanasTaxi's topic in Taxidermy
Very Nice! Congrats to you and your daughter!! -
You have plenty of time to test it out before season and the skeeters are still hungry! Take it out in the yard, plop down in a chair, fire up the Thermacell, and you be the judge.

trail cams... which ones?
Cabin Fever replied to LET EM GROW's topic in Trail Camera Reviews and Info
Pygmy posted a link to some good deals on Coverts on Wing Supply. http://huntingny.com/forums/topic/23833-good-price-on-covert-mp6/ I ordered a couple of the MP6 black's for $115 (free shipping). Best deal I could find. I've only used Scoutguards and Bushnell Trophy Cams. Been satisfied, but thought there might be better to try. Giving Coverts a shot. Just put them out yesterday. -
Very Cool!

Biggest buck I've ever gotten on camera

Great looking buck. Better pick out a spot on the wall! -
Very cute! How old?

I'm surprised I've never seen this growing back in the woods before? It was growing just off the path that I've used for many years. It stuck out like a sore thumb too!

Been trying to get the remainder of my venison used up, to make room for some fresh stuff. I'm down to 1 package of tenderloin and 3 packs of steaks, so 4 single serving sized meals. Getting yours used up??

My son's came in the mail yesterday. We're 2 for 2 now.

Interesting! Thanks guys! Looks like I have some reading to do!

Just smooth. I guess if I had my eyes closed and felt it, I probably wouldn't have known it was any different than a regular green plant.

I was out in the woods today and came across a plant that I've never seen before. It's solid white... stem, leaves, and flowers. Any idea what kind of plant it is? It's 8-10" tall. Pretty neat looking, whatever it is...

I haven't hunted in either area, so I don't have any personal experience. I drive by the south side (Rt. 104) of Lake Shore Marshes very often. It doesn't appear to be heavily hunted. I don't see many vehicles at all parked on the side of the road. Don't think I've ever seen more than 5 max along the road in one day and that's during gun season. Some days, you would never know that season was open. I drove through Galen one day during gun season last year, as I was toying with the idea of trying there myself. There's a nice mix of land and it looked promising. I only saw 3-4 vehicles parked along the road. I've never heard anyone talk about either area, so I have no idea what the deer population or hunting is like. If it were me, I'd start out with Galen though. I liked the lay of the land and there was a lot of crop fields near by. Probably a little closer for you anyway. Good luck!

Man, they look tastey!!!

Great pics Dave! Man, good luck hunting that monster! He is a STUD!!

I have a stand ~70 yards from the pond, but within clear view of it. I have never seen a deer at the pond during bow or gun season! They might be finding standing water to drink then, I don't know...
