    Congrats! Nice to be able to provide for yourself and put some meat in the freezer! It's normal to feel a little sad when you take such a beautiful animal, just give thanks and enjoy the meat!

    Funny that since skinning the deer, I've washed my hands several times and changed clothes, but I still get a whiff of rutting buck musk every now and then! Very strong odor!

    Shot a buck today. His tarsal glands were black! Darker than I have ever seen before. Must be rutting hard!

    Shot this buck this morning with my Dad's .300 Win Mag. First deer I've killed with it since he passed away. Figured I'd blow the dust out of it for him...

    I love it! Get the first 2 days off without having to use vacation time! Gotta be a big plus for people that have a hard time getting off from work during the week or too many people wanting the first couple of days off and managers denying vacation.

    I shot a male last week that weighed exactly 30lbs. This one doesn't look any bigger than that. I guess people always assume they weigh more.... until they hit the scale. That is, if they weigh them at all and just make up what they "think" it weighs.

    Be thankful you can still pick up the phone and call your Dad to share hunts with. Some of us aren't as fortunate... My Dad was my one and only hunting partner for 40 years. Massive heart attack... Poof...Gone. Hunting season is always bittersweet. Thank God the following year my kids were old enough to tag along with me to keep me going.

    Never tried the platinums. After my experience"s" with Powerbelts, I would never try another one of their products.

    My daughter discovered another great use for it.... a "Chin rest", for those slow days when nothing is moving, and you need to take a nap! She gets more use out of it that way!

    Is there a reason for limiting the # of "Likes" you can give out in a day? You can burn through them quickly now with the harvest threads. Can that # be increased?? I just got an error, "You have reached your quota of positive votes for the day".
