  1. Well, that makes me feel better then! I didn't know how they sent them out, by zipcode, or what? I just thought it was odd that my son (17) didn't get his yet, since he lives at the same address and all. We'll just have to wait then...
  2. Has everyone gotten their lifetime license, that has them coming? We still haven't received my son's...
  3. That is an odd rack! Good comparison too! It does remind me of those fake Christmas time antlers!
  4. I'll leave mine in one spot until I either start seeing the same bucks over and over again, with no new ones, or if I'm just not seeing much activity.
  5. Sam - Don't you make noise as you're moving around the tree with your boots on the bark? I must admit, this looks pretty neat and I can see its advantages. I just don't know if I could make the transition from a hang on or ladder stand...
  6. That drop tine will make a good "handle" for dragging this fall!
  7. That's a beautiful buck!! Hopefully, you'll cross paths this fall!
  8. I was picking a handful here and there last week while out scouting! They sure are tastey!!
  9. WOW! That's a beautiful buck! Wish I could find where mine are hiding out!
  10. Did you take any "in the process" pics? I would like to enclose mine, but have no idea where to start. Did you screw or nail the walls to the floor? I've been using a pop-up blind on top of mine. You're really gonna appreciate this stand on those rainy or snowy cold days, when you're dry and warm inside drinking hot coffee all stretched out, looking outside thinking about all those poor suckers out in the weather! LOL I use a propane buddy heater and have a single propane burner, that I use for warming up cans of soup and coffee... Sure helps on those all day sits (and naps)!! NICE!!!
  11. Great bucks! Man, if that doesn't get the heart going....
  12. The DEC could issue my son and I a pocketful of doe tags in 8F, but we're lucky if we fill 1 or 2 (combined) every year! We just don't see many deer around. Last year, we hunted all gun and muzzleloader season and we never even saw a deer!!! (REALLY hard to keep a kids interest when they go out 10+ times and not even see a deer!) The year before that, he saw 1 tail all season! If we don't get meat in the freezer during bow, we don't have much of a chance during gun! Hoping the early bow opener will help put some meat in the freezer.
  13. I'm not having good luck finding decent bucks at all this year either! When we went for a long period without any rain, I moved my cam to our pond, thinking for sure I would get a lot of pics there. There's a soybean field ~ 250 yards away, so I thought it would be a convenient place for them to stop before or after feeding. Plus, there's a great thicket/bedding area 100 yards away from the pond, so I thought they might get up and stop by for a drink on a hot afternoon. There's no other water source around for 1/2-3/4 of a mile. The only buck pics that I got were of a spike and a 5pt! Had the cam there for 3 weeks! I'm stumped... I thought for sure the pond would be a magnet right now!
  14. You can purchase it, but they just need to take their safety course(s) before they get issued a license. No biggie...
  15. Eating crows and pigeons...... I think I'll go barf now.....
  16. I bought my son a lifetime sportsman and lifetime bowhunting licence when he was only 4 years old. I paid $250 for the sportsman (free turkey and doe tags included) and $125 for the bowhunting. He's 17 now, so he'll get my moneys worth!!
  17. Every year, you just take your new license to any license issuing agent and tell them what area(s) you would like your doe tags for, then they issue you the tags.
