What's been your experience with battery life in the <$60 cams?
-
On my way to the stand, I noticed a couple new scrapes that weren't there yesterday. Scrapes have been popping up all over. Never seen so many on the property before! Found 3 scrapes within 100 yards from the cabin! Can see the cabin in the background of the pic! LOL According to the cams, unfortunately 95% of the deer activity has been at night!

Got the book last Friday and read it over the weekend. I jotted down many notes and highlights. Good stuff. Found myself stopping many times thinking, "Yep, that's exactly what I've experienced"! I had what I thought was a solid resume. I even had a professional resume service (career advisor here in NY that wrote a book about resumes, career search, and such) polish it up earlier this year. After reading the Breakthrough book, I changed the resume further, polished up my Professional Profile, and finished a Skills Alignment Matrix for the last job that I applied for. I just want to change a some things on LinkedIn now. I've already been pretty aggressive, as far as making phone calls and emails to hiring managers, to get around the gatekeepers. UNBELIEVABLE how something as simple as job hunting has changed!

Brother, I'm glad to hear you say this! I haven't killed a doe in a 3-4 years. Most guys seem like they need to shoot does, as they have a doe tag that's burning a hole in their pocket. The conservationist in me is holding me back from shooting does on my property. I don't feel I have enough does around my property to sacrifice any, so I choose not to shoot them. PLUS, I have 2 kids that I'm trying to look out for. I would much rather give them have the opportunity at seeing more deer or shooting a doe! Just because the DEC believes that my WMU is over-populated, that CERTAINLY isn't the case!! I've been out 15x so far this season, but have only seen a doe, 2 fawns, and a small buck. I think I'm justified in choosing not to shoot any does! I'm envious of people that have a surplus of does, but I just don't have that. Like you, unless my property becomes somehow over populated, I personally choose to give the does a pass...

Like other things, I've had GREAT luck with drag lines before and I've also had bucks cross the scent line before without paying it any attention. Kind of a crap shoot...

Yep says ~Nov. 1st. You would think the DEC would have the site updated with 2016 info by 10/30! See they're right on top of things, as usual...

10/30 - things are starting to crank up

Holy Hell Jim!! NICE!! I'd be happy with ANY daytime activity right about now! 100% of my pics have been at night. Hunts have been dead!! -
I checked the DEC's link today, but it was still for 2015. Maybe they'll update tomorrow...

Very nice! Good luck in your quest!

Nice bucks! That last one is really cool! I checked my cams 2 days ago after a 5 day soak. Pretty pathetic. Couple of small bucks from 6 cams. I noticed that batteries in one cam were running low, so while I was headed out to the stand, I changed them yesterday. I also swapped the SD cards, not expecting much, since it had only been out for 24 hours. I had 5 different bucks at my mock scrape last night! It does seem like activity is picking up!

It's not even that windy, but a HUGE limb just fell out of the treetop ~30 yards from me! Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk

Scrapes are by far my favorite place for cams! I love the posturing and watching them go at it. -
That's awesome! And someone that made the paper in a "good" way!! Autograph??

Good God.......

Back at it again.... Almost slept in. Good thing momma gave me the elbow to get up! Was snowing on my drive to camp. Cam check yesterday showed a couple small bucks moving in the last 2 mornings, soon after daylight. First bucks I've had on cam for the last 2 weeks moving during shooting hours. Maybe, just maybe things are starting??? Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
