Last week they were seeing 7 to 8 bucks a day on any given stand.

Well 8 of us spent 4 days in Barbour county, which has some of the best genetics in the country in a state that has the second highest density of deer next to Texas, and saw almost nothing. Usually the temps are low 40's at night and around 50 during the day and because the temp went up to 75 this week, the deer shut down. I saw 2 tails at sunset on Sunday and that's it for the week. It's amazing how a warm spell can change their patterns. The deer are definitely there, tracks and rubs everywhere, but without a reason to move they don't. So all 8 of us are coming home empty handed, and the outfitter admitted that it's been a below average season. The severe drought and wacky temp changes has got them all off kilter.

I'm hunting Alabama in February, I hope I see the same action.

So i go to drop off a deer at the local butcher, and a guy drops off a doe with a pvc tube wrapped around its leg, must have stepped on it as a fawn and it grow around it. Weird.

Good luck to my 3H comrades this weekend. Post those pictures. After all these years of AR, 3H is no longer the minor leagues.

Well I had 3 bucks together at 80 yards, grunted and the bigger one peeled off and walked towards me to investigate, big mistake.

Just read that their actually extending the gun season another week from Jan 31 to feb 10th.
