  1. For rooting for a team that has only won 2 championships in 80 years, 1 in your life time, I salute you. Personally I prefer the team that has won 4 in 40 years. The beast of the east is rising. The Islanders are replacing Cindy and the Pens as the team to beat.
  2. That pretty much sums it up best, I would just add that they may not make out what you are at first, I've encountered several while my treestand is on my back, breaking up my outline. Seemed like they were confused as to what this thing is walking through their woods. Also they may feel that they are well consealed at that moment and unaware that you can see them. Believe me,If they perceve you as a threat, Their gone.
  3. Slow this morning, a few shots heard earlier. Very windy, I think that has them a little skittish
  4. Now that the dust has settled on 2014, Just curious on every ones opinion of the staus of 3H. After 2 very poor seasons with either no bucks seen and little deer sightings, which is surprising considering we have had 7 years of AR. 2014 has been a good year. The deer population seems to have grown in my neck of the woods and although I did not see any boone and crockett's, Seeing several bucks during the bow and rifle season was worth paying the tolls. I want to believe AR is working..any thoughts.
  5. I drew a tag in VT in 2011. Hunted hard for 3 days,Saw only one cow which I took. This guy keeps attacking people right outside the back door of my condo at Sugarbush.
  6. A moose tag in Maine..and maybe a cure for all diseases...but mostly a moose tag in Maine.
  7. My daughter sent me a picture of another moose terrorizing the skiers at our place in vermont
  8. Found this picture in the sullivan county democrate, nice 10 ptr taken in cochection.
  9. Found this picture in the sullivan county democrate, nice 10 ptr taken in cochection.
  10. A little known fact about the first Thanksgiving, Turkey was not the main course but actually venison!
  11. And the picture they use in the article is that of a red stag, Not even native to this country.
  12. Nice job, 18 years later after getting my 1st deer, I still remember it like it was yesterday. Welcome to the brotherhood.
  13. Believe it or not their pretty close in size. Its the angle of the shot and from a cell phone camera. The doe was an old girl, she did have a few pounds on him.
  14. Only 24 hours in very cold temps, She's good.
  15. Well doe tag filled at 7:30 and buck at 10:00. That's a wrap for me.
  16. Good luck to my fellow 3H comrades, Post those pictures and be safe out there.
  17. It's not the temperature that sends a bear to a den, it's usually deep snow. If there's no snow it's not that uncommon for a bear to skip denning.
  18. Forcast for next weekend in 3H is highs in the 30's. Looking good.
  19. Thats Federal land,Those deer can't be touched. Ironically, When Theodore Roosevelt lived in that house, 100 years ago, there were no deer any where near Oyster bay.
  20. My wife always teases me about traveling far to my hunting spot when she travels 10 min from the house to Nassau county and see's deer. Btw, that's sagamore hill in the back round, Theodore Roosevelt's home
