  1. Yes it is. The guy that said he was going to take it hasn't shown up twice now. It is still a really good shooter
  2. I'm continuing to clean Rifles I no longer use, (and it looks like the 30-30 Buyer is in the wind) so... First is a Marlin 30-30 CS Lever Action with a 3-9 Variable Simmons Scope + 6 Boxes of Ammo (5 Hornady Leverevolution 160's and 1 Federal Premium Nosler 170's) $400 The second is a Ruger M77 Bolt .270 with Rings (no scope) + 6 boxes of ammo ( 5 PMC Precision Lock 130's and 1 Federal 130 Sierra BTSP) This is the Red Butt Pad, Slide Tang Safety Rifle. $600 Both rifles were manufactured in the early 80's and have excellent blueing and NO rust. The wood Stocks have some normal dings from carrying while hunting but no chips or scratches. All Safe Law Requirements complied with and buyer pays background check and shipping if needed. I prefer Face to Face and will travel as far as Middletown Gander for the NICS check. I'm in Westchester and have used a FFL in Kisco for a couple of recent sales. Both charge $10) Thanks for Looking
  3. Thanks Jerkman, I'll try to look him up to find a contact number. See you on the Ice this year!
  4. I know that Gander in Middletown still charges $10. I'll call around tomorrow to see what the locals are charging
  5. LNIB 10/22 and 100 rnd box of Winchester 22's for $175 I picked it up this Fall and put a couple of hundred rounds through it before cleaning it and putting it in the safe. Face to Face is easiest, I'm in Westchester and will drive as far as Gander in Middletown for Safe Act Background check. (Buyer pays for check and shipping if needed) Thanks for looking!
  6. Like everything else...it depends. If I'm upstate hunting on private land opening weekend will find me waiting for a buck. But I'm primarily hunting to put venison in my freezer so if im anywhere else and I see a good doe, I'm going home happy.
  7. Please add me to that PM List. Thanks!
  8. I thought Astorino did well. Never really landed the knockout but hopefully did well enough to close the gap a little more. Coumo played the race card hard but didn't have much else. I hope he didn't fool too many folks with that nonsense. Our only real hope is to make sure every damn one of us gets to the Poll to Vote. Keep encouraging everyone you know to do the same and maybe we can pull it off. Statistically, less than 50% actually vote so it could happen with a strong turnout.
  9. Really nice Buck, Good Luck!
  10. During Gun Season I always wear an Orange Hat, and add an Orange vest while walking in and out, or stalking around later in the Season.
  11. I held one in a gun shop once, man that's a lot of gun. I've no interest in carrying it around in the woods all day OR shooting it at the Range. Just seems like overkill to me.
  12. I've got a Marlin 30-30 that I picked up around 1980 that still shoots great and has killed quite a few deer. These days I usually hunt with a 30-06 Bolt when I hunt in a Rifle zone but after looking at all of these terrific rifles I'm thinking I'll break out my old 30-30 again this year!
  13. I've been successful hunting with my .357 Mag using 158 gr. SJSP. But I've never attempted a shot out past 30 yds when using it. In the past I had really good results with a Ruger Super Blackhawk 44 Mag. With 240 gr SJSP's Out to 60 yds. I've been kicking myself for 20 years for letting that Ruger go! I just picked up a new 7.5" Super Blackhawk Hunter in late September and am hoping the Amendment comes back in time for me to use it this Hunting Season. I've been able to pick up a few boxes of 180's and 240 gr SJSP's. I'm going to use the 180's to practice with, but I think I'll sight in for real and hunt with the 240's.
  14. Same old Remington 870 12 Gauge with Full Choke
  15. Outdoor life magazine tested this earlier in the year and rated the Stanley Adventure 25oz. For $30. The best over the 12 hour testing period, losing 34 degrees in that time. They list stanley-pmi.com in the article.
  16. I don't know about hundreds of them, but there was a confirmed kill when a mountain lion was hit by a car on the Meritt Pkwy outside of Greenwich CT. a couple of years ago. You can google it for the news clippings.
  17. I used to go Fall Striper fishing every year out of Montauk on the "My Mate" with Capt. joe Mcbride. He's a good guy and we always did well, with some really big Stripers taken over the years! You can either google it or see him at the Rockland Sportsman show every year.
  18. To be fair, if you can get permission on private land Putnam is really nice. I still go to the multiple use areas as well but I stay away from them on opening day (weekend) of any season. It's just scary out there with the crowd. I'd really love to pick up some acreage where I could just go out and do my thing quietly, without all of the craziness of Public Land, but I'm not sure that's ever going to happen.
  19. Ha! Damn Shawn, you're everywhere! Just got back from rowing around CR again, that Res is going to take some learning, I haven't done a darn thing out there yet!
