Wouldn't make a difference. Once those first 2 days have passed deer shut down and gun season is effectively over anyway as far as mature Bucks are concerned.

You could also try ankle wraps in a rubber boot -

Sad news guys.I found Puddle dead in the road this morning, hit by a car. He was still warm. Funny thing is, I thought it was garbage day (its not) and I saw him as I brought the trash to the edge of the drive. He was my favorite cat, but very adventurous. We figured we would lose him first. Pretty cut up about it. Going to bury him in a little while -
Yep...pink chrome

I've been having the same problem with bucks all gun season

I am planning a fancy homebrew Euro mount for my 10 pointer from Bow season. I too have a broken arrow to incorporate. I am thinking along these lines:

Btw guys, I have been field testing my Baffin Trapper boots these last few days due to the Mucks leaking. They are great. Spent hours out in the snow, laying under trees, up in stands etc and I never noticed my feet being cold. They just felt normal. Got 'em ages ago as a back-up boot but only opened the box recently. -
Well, I can't complain. I did kill my Buckest Buck ever this year despite the ensuing drama and loss of meat. Took a half hearted shot at a Doe this moring but missed. Knocked some belly fluff off her. I am not feeling the absolute need to fill the freezer. I have 2 doe tags but generally have been not wanting to shoot doe for a few seasons now. I will see how I feel about taking out the bow again over the next week but I suspect I am done. Already dreaming about next years Bow season! The plan now is to try and catalogue Bucks that made it. I haven't seen any afield or on cam all gun season. It's been a weird one.

kamik cold weather boot arrived yesterday. will give 'em a whirl this weekend. The feel good indoors -
My Buck headed to water this year. Went half a mile to get to it. Was watching a Bow hunting show recently. Two deer shot far back both went and died in a river. Not saying the 'myth's are true, but it makes sense that animals losing blood will want to drink.

Dry leaves with a coating of glass-like frost meant a quiet walk to stand was totally impossible today. This gun season has been a total bust. Worst ever. No Bucks seen from stand (only 2 doe in fact) and no bucks on camera anymore either, not even at night along traditonally popular routes. They sure can hide if they need to. Gonna have to wait for Saturday and Sunday afternoon for the tradtional last weekend pushes put on by the neighbors it seems. I had a walk round the edge of the Honey Hole this morning that borders the neighbors. Lots of deer tracks and I found a 7/8 inch diameter hemlock tree trunk torn to shreds. This was likely done by the deer I killed in Bow or the 6yr old 10 pointer running around. This spot had all the hallmarks of perfection for a succesful gun season and yet nothing. Ya just can't tell. Can't wait for next years Bow season now. Last 2 years have seen all the action and success before gun.

scout now for rubs and scrapes and remember for next year

Those two bad winters decimated my doe numbers. Deer numbers are down year on year for sometime anyway. Also, doe are great Buck lure, hence I don't shoot 'em anymore

I also ordered the Kamik Men's Hunter Cold Weather Boot for 50 Bucks on Amazon. 2 pairs of boots for the price of 1 pair of Mucks -

My latest and 2nd pair of Arctic Mucks just sprang a leak. 2 years of reasonably solid wear, but still dissappointing for the cost. I have ordered a pair of Kamik Men's Bushman Snow Boot to replace them. A good deal cheaper and similar in look and function. Anyone tried this range? -

I hit the woods a lot, work out in basement, weights and heavy punch bag etc, cycle a little in the warmer weather. I never lose an ounce. If I want to lose weight I have to stop eating.
