Anyone ever use grass cuttings as a cover scent? I sat my new stand spot tonight. Feels good, but no deer . I had mowed the lawn earlier today and decided to bring along a bag of the aromatic cuttings to act as cover scent. No deer meant I could not gauge a reaction.

Just got in from a satisfying morning of stand moving and dealing with the natural blind brush pile the neighbor was hunting from into my property last night. Turns out the brush pile blind was just over into my side of the line, so I tore it to pieces, razed the whole thing down to the ground. and posted the hell out of the surrounding area. Took awhile, it was mix of old vines, dead tree tops and large branches, all matted together. Then I moved a stand into some thick stuff not too far from this same spot. I saw a buck in there last night, I suspect neighbor may have been following him. I have been meaning to try this area for a long time as it is usually a nest of rubs. However, it is right next to a deep ravine, but the deer, especially larger bucks, cross/escape out of my property at this point also. I have observed this a number of times. Now, do I hunt tonight or leave it a day or 2? Hmm...

So I go to do a bit of reconnaissance at the bottom end of the property. My hunting buddy has his stand down there, so I leave it alone mostly, but there are two mighty oak trees along the end property line. I usually don't hunt near 'em because it is too close to the neighbors. As I am heading down to sit and observe this area for a while, I hear crunching off to my left. The neighbor has set himself up with a natural blind about 5 yards from my line. He is clearly hunting my side, as there is nothing on his side except a thick growth of young maple and Tulip trees. He cannot be hunting into his side at all. It is impenetrable for arrows. What to do about this azz-hat? He slunk off like big foot into his own property once he realized I wasn't a deer. Didn't say a word. Wasn't wearing any tags either. I plan to post the crap out of this spot in front of his blind tomorrow. Looks to be a day of trespasser reduction activity. Might pop a stand up there too, but he would probably use it! And I saw a decent looking buck near this area too as I was going down.

Yeah, I have had some very strong, curious reactions to Evercalm caught on camera. Definitely has the power to stop a deer for a few moments.

Called it just before 11. Pulled some cards. Almost no deer movement, day or night. Did see a mid size doe while I was moving a trail cam. This morning felt so perfect for a Monster to read the play book. Head out again for 3ish...

Yotes are howlin here in 9h. Heading out soon, although the wind is not good. Going to a lesser stand.

I live in the sticks. Some days however, it sounds like airport traffic by my house.
