I can't believe I read someone say "This means he's eating something off the patch of bare earth behind the log. :toclue:Just sayin'". I was unaware that deer ONLY spread the front legs to eat. If you are going to accuse someone, just say it instead of trying to be cute and insinuate something based on opinion. If you do it publicly, and you are wrong, you will look like a moron. Just sayin... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Fawn Killer No More

Don't gut it if you are going to skin it yourself. It will make it easier to leave it in. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Fawn Killer No More

Skinning and tanning can be done pretty easily if your looking for the cheaper route. My buddy killed one last year and I skinned and tanned myself. Came out great for my first one. Just did my second last week. Pm if you have any questions. If you can gut a deer, you can tan a coyote Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I've had my girlfriend in the woods with me for muzzleloading and bow. Bought her a set of camo and I created a monster. It's the best thing I may have done. I get calls telling me about sales at cabelas and bass pro shops. This girl lived in an apt in queens her whole life. Now she likes going with me and sitting in the woods even likes shooting and wants to bowhunt.....if she eventually shoots a bigger deer than me do I break up with her?...lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Passing on bucks because of Antler Restrictions

I know it is 100% different depending on wmu. Some areas not having any doe permits baffles me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Passing on bucks because of Antler Restrictions
DROpTINE replied to Dorsilfin's topic in Deer Hunting
Opening weekend the butcher I go to had 90 deer. Of those deer, 52 were 8pts or better. About 10 of the remaining deer were basket 6pts or 8pts and the rest does. Butcher said he had never had that many bigger bucks and the age of most of the bucks taken have been 2.5-3.5. I think it is working. While I understand the issue with putting restrictions, we may all just have to wait another year or two to truly see a difference. We are never going to have Monsters everywhere or 200inch deer taken every season. Fact. In years past, how many bucks small or big had been seen during the season vs this year & last year? Personally, I have seen more bucks while hunting in the past 2 years than the previous 10 yrs combined. Same property-same stands. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Thanks. I thought so. Either way tasted great! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Got my deer back from a new butcher, about 40-45lbs of meat vacuum packed. I'm happy but had one issue....are "upper loins" back straps? I think it is just not sure. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

"...Except, the Regular Season deer tag is valid for deer of either sex in Westchester & Suffolk counties, in areas restricted to bowhunting only (WMUs 4J and 8C), and during the late seasons with the appropriate bow or muzzleloading privileges. During the late seasons, the Regular Season deer tag is valid for deer of either sex." Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I think the "piece of crap" is just a feeling when comparing to "our" animal of preference. I think coyotes have helped balance the population as a whole, they have to, it's in there DNA. . Like you said they are being coyotes. But I think we are, as a whole, seeing more damage by coyotes to the deer we hunt... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

All of those deer are shooters for me. Any buck bigger than my biggest is a shooter. To each there own. Good luck all Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

For me it would go something like this "get the F*** away from my deer you POS" if he said anything to argue with me I would beat the crap out of him.....sorry if that bothers some, but if your dealing with someone trying to claim something clearly not there's, they deserve all of it. If you don't act like a normal human you will not get treated like one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If someone tried stealing my deer, they'd be hung next to them on the pole. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I believe it's a "work it out with your own dealer" type thing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If you have a licensed dealer receive the order I believe you can purchase. Background check would be done at the licensed dealer Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Record is close to 700 I believe. That bear is tremendous. Is it rigor mortis that set in or does the bear look a lil stiff? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I arrived at my cabin this morning around 9-930. Was unpacking when I looked out the window and saw a doe coming out of the wood line a little more than 100yds from my cabin. I grabbed my bow ran to the wood line and crawled towards her. I got behind a cluster of bushes about 40yds from her and looked for an opening. On cue she walked right to the opening and began to feed. I ranged her quick had her at 30, picked a spot and let her rip...the thwack sent goosebumps through my body and as she turned I saw the arrow stuck good. I thought I saw her go down so I gave it 15 mins and walked to where she stood when I shot. I immediately found good blood and continued. No more than 20 yds there she lie, arrow sticking up out her. This my 2nd deer with the bow ever and a great start to my season....on the last day of bow. Nice mature doe! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
