Was a little bored before the football games and hit the old river by the house that has a special catch and release brown trout season with artificial lures. Ended up pulling my best brown to date!

I guess it's not more or less the money thing but to have that experiance with my family for a week and not have a cell phone. Also the experiance of hunting out of the states and add it to my resume. I'm sure Maine is great and most likely someday hit that as well. It's just as easy for me to go up with them who have been going for years. The opportunity came and I took it. As much as I would rather plan a trip out west to hunt whitetail, this came first.

It is ringing me up around 1400 for cabin and fishing from the 20th-27th. 925 for just the bear hunt

Bills needed more of an offensive minded coach, Schwartz and his defense was actually really good this year. Rex is an ok coach,obviously known more for his defenses. The quarterback situation is frightening as you saw what has happened the last few years with the QB decisions in NY. My guess is he goes back to Manuel who should have never been drafted that high by them to begin with. He took the Jets to back to back AFC championship games lets not forget. Time will tell.

Sounds like a great time! Similar kind of deal here They have 80 something bait sites and u pick which one to go to and drive your wheeler to it. I don't get to see this side of the family much so it will be good bonding as they live in Michigan.

Moog, They indeed have had some success! this bear my cousin shot last spring skull measure 19 3/8 which was P&Y and around 380 pounds. My little cousin also took a 200 pounder with her .243. They have a 75% success rate up there and everyone usually gets their shot at a mature bear. Fish during the day and hunt at night. That's what I heard as well. The outfitter states if the bear is higher than the second rung on the 50 gallon drum next to the bait pile then they are more than likely a shooter

Finally booked my first out of state hunt. I have booked a Black Bear hunt 12 hours up North into Quebec with Mikes Outfitters. My extended family has gone up the past few years and had a ball. Pretty pumped! I'll be pursuing them with bow in the last week of June. Has anyone else gone a Canadian Bear hunt? How was the experience? Never Really thought I would care to go bear hunting but more and more I read, the more interested I get.

I think AR's limiting deer to having 3 on one side does not necessarily mean your taking a mature deer. Plenty of 1 year and 5 month and 1 year and 7 month old out there that have 3 on one side. Kinda defeats the purpose of trying to promote more mature bucks when you are taking out some of the better genetics. If that is part of the route NYS is thinking.

Our Deer Management plan is so far behind other states it's not even funny. Even if NY does decide to do this more laws will be broken and a lot of people will be getting away with it due to the lack of ECO's out there. What is actually going on with the money in the Conservation Fund?
